Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

Still don't know what the missing link is actually
My personal hypothesis is that the "missing link" is the story itself: as it can be noticed from the promo video, the "path" of Marchosias and Slave Wraith serves as a sort of bridge among the events of the various gaiden, literaly crossing them (or anyway making evident references to their most famous moments): e.g. battle of Jaburo for Lost war, arctic base for Blue Destiny, RX-78XX vs MS-08TX fight for Cross Dimension, HLV launch base for Rise from the Ashes, battle of A Baoa Qu for Encounters in space, and so on.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

Todesritter incomplete specs:
-Generator: 3400 KW
-Thruster total: 123600 kg
-Armor: Gundarium + Ceramics

Todesritter beam sabers are wrist mounted like the Bawoo. Hyper Beam Sabers are on the back used by the sub arms. Chest Machinecannons. Only Beam Gun x2 exact place missing.

Palerider visor has both dual sensors and a monoeye between them. Its 180mm Cannon is a custom model and fold-able.

Efreet Schneid's Heat Darts are made to fit the style of the pilot who used to hurl the Pixie's daggers at the enemies.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

Story stuff and HADES explanation. Oh and the Tri-Blade Incoms do have beam guns mounted on the center.
Spoiler
Slave Wraith story
Slave Wraith, lead by Travis "Fixer" Kirkland is a top secret squad consisting of ex death row inmates who work for a mysterious guy named Grave, who has them doing his dirty work, such as assassinating federation officers who are against Revil. When the end of the war approaches it seems that he's afraid of what they know and has them branded as traitors and tries to have them killed. They team up with Zeon's Marchosias squad (also he realises that one of Marchosias' members, Vincent, is actually his son) and eventually manage to steal all the data on Grave's operations and leak it, which results in him losing his position and eventually committing suicide (it's never actually mentioned who Grave really is). Also the Pale Rider attacks them twice and they just run away each time.

Marchosias story
Vincent Gleissner is a member of the Marchosias squad consisting mostly of promising youths. Most of them die during the invasion of Earth. Members include Annerose, a newtype girl, and her not boyfriend Al. She gets Al killed when she goes gunning for Amuro at the battle of A Baoa Qu and then freezes because of his KONO PRESSURE WA and he takes a shot meant for her. And then the Pale Rider pops out of nowhere in the final stage and seemingly kills everyone in Marchosias.

TEN YEARS LATER: Pale Rider story

Vincent survived the battle and joined Neo Zeon along with the Pale Rider's pilot Chloe who was experimented on at Augusta and has no memories and whatever. Also the Todesritter as the Pale Rider is now called is kind of killing her. They fight some Glemy remnants and encounter Annerose in a red Quin Mantha who is now kind of nuts and wants vengeance for Marchosias and blames Chloe for killing Al which makes no sense because it was Amuro who killed him and she didn't even blame him back then but herself for being stupid, but whatever. Also Travis has been spending ten years looking for Vincent and Chloe and finally catches up with them. He tells Annerose Chloe's bawwwtastic life story (which he learned from the data Wraith stole to get Grave off their backs) but she doesn't care and Chloe and Annerose blow each other's machines up and eject. Annerose cries over how she knows she was wrong. Travis and Vincent recover their escape pods and Vincent calls Travis daddy and together they fly over to some colony and the four of them live happily ever after (also Chloe has Vincent's baby). THE END.

Also when BD2 and 3 stab each other in the face a psychofield is generated and in the ending which takes place during the Axis drop Yuu recognises the psychoframe's light as the same one he saw before.

HADES is an EXAM knockoff.

As in literally a knockoff.

Augusta pestered professor Moses for stuff and he gave them rubbish and they built the Pale Rider based on it.

In the one crossover stage with Blue Destiny, Travis mentions how they encountered something similar to the BD-3 at Jaburo and Alph gets offended over comparing his Blues to that shit.

Also Nimbus' story mode reveals that he had Marion's comatose body sent to a hospital at Side 6 before the showdown with Yuu. She wakes up immediately after the two BDs stab each other in the face.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

I am disappointed. Glemy's remnants hardly have any 0088 era MS. So what post One Year War MS are available anyway? That's probably the only thing I am interested in as hardly any console games are set after One Year War.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

Well, I guess it is best to just stick to the One Year War part. Senki's Delaz Fleet and AEUG cameos were better.

Good to know that the Todesritter is a chimera like MS, and also another off standard MS using standard equipment, similar to the FA Unicorn.

The Adzam variation from Rise from Ashes is called Adzam Olga here.

Funny how in RfA its cannons were solid and here they're beam

Does anyone know what happens to the Efreet Schneid according to the UC manga side stories(Bande Denisee included)? I saw a page of it fighting the two Byarlant Customs.

Exactly how does a lone Efreet survive against two Byarlant customs?

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

Wow, I just realised that the young Zeon cadet pilot who called for his mother while being burnt to death, had appeared in several works such as the orignal movie trilogy, reappears in Missing Link as a named character.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

After looking a the lineart and notes I'm still in doubt if the wrist Beam Sabers from the Todesritter double as beam guns since this function is shown in the tentative and not final design sketches.

I also believe one paragraph says the Hyper Beam Sabers double as swiveling Beam Cannons while mounted on the backpack.

Todesritter is almost as armed to the tooth as the Doven Wolf

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

The hyper beam sabers seem to be the same ones as, or else inspired by, those used by the Gundam Mk-V. Its sabers could double as beam cannons, so who knows?
Sakuya: "Whatever. Stop lying and give up your schemes, now."
Yukari: (Which lies and schemes are she talking about? It's hard to keep track of them all...)

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

In terms of the timing of events between Cross Dimension and Missing Link, does anyone know whether it is plausible for Slave Wraith to have received the same Pixie from the Albatross unit?

Don't worry about the green coloured one from Renpou Guren Tai. Same goes with the extra Zock in the same manga series.

The funny thing is, for the sake of gameplay, all of these game side stories have copious amounts of Ground GMs showing up, during both pre Odessa and post Odessa. It used to be around 50 machines at most with some at Odessa, and the rest in the Kojima Battalion.

They're also trying to maintain the figure of 3 Pixies and 8 Efreets when making these higher tier side stories.

We're at 4 out 8 Efreets now. The Pixie from this game in its official profile says it can be the repaired Unit 2 from Cross Dimension or Unit 1 produced in Belfast.

Re: Gundam Side Story: Missing Link MS

It reminded me of this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/ ... 4b0d33.jpg

Supposedly the red one is simply the original repaired, while the white one is supposedly in the same colors as Haman's Gaza C, making it an IF scenario unit.

Perhaps the most ironic part is that for those unaware of their background, having 3 colors schemes could be considered to reflect its classification on the Mahq profile as a "mass production Newtype use heavy mobile suit".
