-Railguns were attached to the hip skirts, now larger
-Shield was improved with 3 beam sabers and now mounts on the nose in MA mode

-Can fire the Scylla in MS mode now

Hmm, those three don't really do much for me, though Blitz definitely reminds me of the Testament.

Honestly, a RE:Destiny should probably focus on fixing the broken plot over redesigning the mecha.

They've already done that; I believe it was called Super Robot Wars Z.

But seriously, I don't think Destiny needs any more equipment. It's already plagiarizing all three Striker packs, Justice, V2, God and Zeta.

I thought it was more 'IJ beat Destiny. Twice.' but yes, I remember the debates and all the pissing and moaning generally. I also remember all the BS floating around of what Destiny could do before they actually told/showed us. Stuff like 'It has a 'Perfect Mirage Colloid' or 'super ultra long-range beam cannon', and things of that nature... and that's just on the mecha side of things. The endless arguments about the writing (and attendant unsourced BS) are best not revisited except by trained professionals.

...And the writing was BS. TOTAL BS. And the SF was an ugly hacked up design that needed two or three model kit lineart revisions before it looked remotely attractive. I still hold my conviction that they gave the SF those wing bits and WoL at the very last minute. I don't put it past Fukuda to tack on every possible gimmick he could think of for his flawless Kira Sue Jesus Yamato.

The WoL was probably thrown in last minute (even if the Dragoons isn't), because SF gets them on his last attack in its debut episode. Prior to that, the first 3/4 of its debut features SF using Dragoons without WoL, so it was probably not considered at first. It was retrospectively corrected in the Special Editions and the Remastered.

And to be fair, I do find Destiny a little bit bland. Legend as well. I feel like both of them could use a bit more equipment than what they currently have, but that might just be me.

I think Destiny was a fine design. Mind you, my entire experience with it was the MG Extreme Burst (or whatever); I never made it far enough in the show to see it there.

To be clear, I was mainly referring to its weapons when I say its "bland". The beam rifle is forgettable, the beam cannon is forgettable, and the sword could have been more unique. Part of this is probably because Destiny is basically a rehashed enhanced Strike and we already seen how those work before those scenes became stock footages.

Mind you, Destiny is one of my favorite designs from GSD. It has, in my opinion, one of the best Gundam heads and best Wing design (that looks awesome both with OR without WoL).

Going back more on-topic, Balofo, are there more Manga original designs? I remember vaguely of a Cgue Dragoon Test Type (which I'd appreciate if you could repost the picture for). Are there any others? And do any of them have proper linearts like the GoL original designs?

From the looks of it I think the manga might be trying to fill out the tech tree a bit with these um...equipment variants. The Aegis ability to fire its scylla makes it sound like its a precursor to the Rosso Aegis, or at least the modification is. The Duel Gundam looks like its holding the anti-ship sword from the CQUE DEEP Arms. The Blitz Gundam is most likely an equipment precursor to the divine striker, while the duels equipment seems to be based more on the ISWP striker, or a dumbed down version of it. Most likely the Earth Alliance gets the strikes combat data and decides to make these Z.A.F.T hodgepodge designs into actual strikers.

The Busters equipment actually looks like its the Verne 35A/MPFM Multipurpose Flight Module, which is supposedly designed after the meteor units. Though this version seems to be adapted for aquatic usage. If this is the same unit then it indicates the meteor units were finished, before the Aegis self destructed itself on the Strike.

Okay so we actually have line art for this stuff now, and um...I'm not sure what to say.

At first I thought the Blitz Gundams equipment was just an attachment to its backpack, but its apparently an entirely new backpack. The Duels equipment really does look like it is early ISWP pack. Its just honestly to similar to ignore, but I'm unsure if there is a beam cannon, or some sort of other weapon under those cannons. I'm not sure what to think of the buster, but is that a beam cannon mounted to its chest ?
