Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question: is the black Zaku custom pilot paint job, or is there more than one MS-06S paint in all black? Is it only at A Bao Qu?
Re: Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
Recheck Apocalypse 0079: there are 2 machines: one with antenna and one without. Both seem to be MS-06S. Is there more of these black ones around?

Re: Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
I will assume that the black paint is a low visibility color. The unreliable Gundam wiki claims it's a Zaku II Patrol Type:
http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/MS-06S_Zaku_II_Patrol_Type
I do must point out that the Zaku Reconnaissance Type do is a variant of the MS-06S that shares the same thrusters, so it might not be too farfecthed that some MS-06S do were actually given a patrol role:

If you want some official info, I have this scan which has some info about it, though you'll need someone who can read japanese:

I do will say that MS Igloo depicts the MS-06F, MS-06J and MS-06S with identical backpacks and even Char's unit has 4 verniers, just like a standard MS-06F.
Personally, I believe that there must be some antenna-less MS-06S, just like there are MS-06R-1A units without one (Mash's, Ortega's and Gato's).

Re: Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
Thanks. I haven't check this on regular Zakus in igloo but I see sorta exposed mini thrusters on the black Zaku's leg, so I guess it's S-type.
Re: Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
Literally, it's labeled in that scan as "Zaku II Reconnaissance Team Version", which really does imply there's more than one. 偵察隊 (reconnaissance team) could also be interpreted as "patrol," in the sense of a team assigned to patrol duties.

Unfortunately the thrusters simply mean that it is either an F-type or an S-type, as both units are depicted with the exact same thruster and vernier arrangement:domtropen wrote:Thanks. In contrast, the MS Igloo version of the J-type Zaku doesn't have verniers on the back of its legs:
http://www.msigloo.net/ms/zeon10.html
As an interesting detail, it should be noted that said Zaku do retains the sole thrusters of the space models, which have been removed for the J-Type Zaku of MS Igloo 2:

IIRC, Mark mentioned something about the MS-06FJ, which is simply a designation for F-type units that were converted into J-types, while J-type units built from scratch are simply MS-06J and only have thrusters on their backpack.
Re: Igloo Apocalypse black MS-06S question
The text on the Black Zaku MS-06S mentions large amount of verniers on the backside... so it is a special config.
