Woah that is pretty awesome. It kind of reminds me of how Big Dog moves around when he pushes it. It seems like we are getting closer and closer to having robots actually function. Its a shame that MS will always be ridiculous in the real world.

It is, indeed, a shame.

I, for one, though, will be first on my block to assemble a Landmate.

I know BigDog is old news, but Boston Dynamics knocks it up a knotch with its own theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqMVg5ixhd0 :P :P

That just made my day. Don't you just love how it has that bounce in its step? Also, LittleDog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIipbi0cAVE

I was also delightfully surprised to discover there is a firefighting robot in development: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kFpG_xfymg

It seems too slow and immobile in my opinion, and I hope they upgrade it to a real water cannon in its final design. >,>;

There is word going around that Honda is very embarrassed by their ASIMO design now that PETMAN has been unveiled. What are your thoughts on the matter? Personally, ASIMO looks like it does fine within its intended function, but the way it is built has its limitations compared to Boston Dynamics' design strategy.
