Picard hadn't noticed the second Rick Dias, the one with the white markings on the torso. It had been positioned in such a way the first Rick Dias obstructed any view of it. In any case, the second unit made itself known and fired its bazooka while the first one closed in and fired its beam pistol. The intrepid team leader brought his shield over his midsection and corkscrewed slightly right while still moving backward. Jacob's and Randy's shots thus slip off into empty space, but some of Celeste's scattershot spread pelts M-Hover's Hizack. The shield blocks a potentially fatal shard from piercing the cockpit hatch.

Aaron had cleared the combat area with Elijah's trashed suit, so there was no longer any point in sticking around. "You're lucky, all of you," Picard's hectoring would likely never reach his enemies' ears, but that would never be enough to stop him, "With my fuel and ammo so low, and my melee weapon wrecked, you won't have to face a Newtype who single-handedly shot down most of Zeon's aces back in the war!"

M-Hover parlayed his corkscrew maneuver into a wide arc back to Echo's warships and cranked his thrusters to their highest output.

- Beta Team -

As Beta Team's distance from the AEUG suits increased, Wolf twisted his Marasai around to take better advantage of his full acceleration back to the warships.

Sven's banged-up machine was up ahead. Wolf swept in next to it and pressed his own Marasai's left hand against Sven's shoulder.

"Your first sortie in a long time, Sven. Not bad for someone so rusty."

Maybe he wanted to take his mind off his failure to kill Ashlyn by striking up some small talk, but there was the nagging doubt that he was too distant from a man who might as well have been his own cousin.

- Delta Team -

Shin flew his one-legged Barzam near Gilliarme's tattered machine. Somehow, he knew he didn't have to ask his question aloud. If Gilliarme decided to continue the offensive and finish off the Rick Dias', Shin would continue fighting will all his spirit. If Gilliarme preferred to fall back with the withdrawal order, then Shin would obey without question.

-

Michiko's Dias screamed by too rapidly for Sam to cut her barrel roll and adjust for a clear shot in time Yeah sure Yeah Yeah sure sure. Maybe a month. Two at most. Sam pulled an AMBAC spin so she was careening in one direction while facing the opposite no age limit on being ignorant and fired an unsteady beam rifle shot. She then initiated a wide turn to regroup with the increasingly distant Delta Team.

-Gilliarme-

After Gilliarme having danced around the last of the shots Clute fired at him (and swerving left once, spinning, and shooting down one of the explosive rounds with his Beam Rifle), Gilliarme turned his attention to the offensive...only to find Clute and Jack retreating. Fortunately, they didn't seem to want to fight Delta in a running battle; unfortunately, the other Kirov Mobile Suit teams seem to be doing the same, and while the Barzam was built for a prolonged battle, even the length of this was taking a toll on Delta Team all the same.

It hurts all over but it doesn't matter. They do.

And somehow, Gill knew that this time, Shin and Sam would follow him without hesitation. He didn't need to say anything; He didn't need to worry, either. With a wave, Gilliarme's Barzam began rocketing backwards, firing a few last trailing shots at the Chuikov to cover Delta's own withdrawal back towards the Kirov's general area.

Jim "Zeke" McAlpin

The way Lt. Heyden had pressed on and ignored the retreat order was astonishing. The man was completely wreckless and seemed to of had a death wish. But at the same time his wreckless disregard for his own life was inspiring.

"Fritz! Lt Heyden is ignoring the retreat order! I'll follow him!" Jim said as he finally regained control of his rick dias.

The young pilot sped off after the veteran pilot a grin on his face. Lt. Heyden was a man of action and a well respected pilot. If Jim was going to get any respect on the Dervish he would need to prove himself to the others. Assisting a veteran like Heyden would earn him respect and give him a good opportunity to pick up some good pointers.

Pan Heyden

Pan scoffed at the signal to retreat. He was going to destroy these titans. Strength is what mattered and if the AEUG would continue to run from the Titans like this it would only allow them to replenish their strength and return. The only way to win this war would be to wipe out the majority of their forces in one simple move. That is how Pan Heyden saw it.

He raced after the retreating Marasai's unaware of Jim tailing him. The units seemed unaware of him as they initiated skin talk. Pan smirked as fired a round towards the rear of Wolf Ritter.

A sub-screen popped up on Jacob's display, the Rick Dias' computer spotting stimulus that tripped a subroutine to bring the pilot's focus on it. His eyes flicked to the fresh screen, a subroutine in the computer called his brain identifying what he was seeing as a signal flare. A retreat signal flare to be exact.

Since he was keeping most of his attention on his enemy, though, it was easy to see that the Titan was retreating. Not that Jacob could blame him. Now that Celeste had joined in the attack he was outnumbered. It would take a newtype or something to have a chance of victory, especially given the tech advantage the Rick Diases had.

Tapping his controls, he sends some propellant to the numerous verniers covering the front of his suit, sending him back towards his own ship while keeping his face to the enemy. To make sure the Titan's pilot wasn't pulling some kind of trick and didn't change his mind he sent a couple of poorly aimed beam shots after him. Unless the man dodged into them, they would never hit.

Checking the screens that displayed what was behind him, he pulled his controls again, adjusting his momentum so that he could reach out (after stowing his beam saber) and touch the arm of Lt. Angelina's suit.

"I think that's it, Lieutenant," he says through skin talk. "Looks like the bad guys are bugging out and that we're supposed to, also. See any other trouble we should stick our noses in?"

He scanned the area carefully trying to pick out friendly and un-friendly units and identify where the latter are endangering the former.
Yep...That's Texas in a nutshell. Why just say "f**k you" when you can put it on a flag?

- The Dervish -
- Hangar -

LtCmdr. Eckardy thought over the doctor’s request for a short interview for a moment before responding, “Yeah, sure,”. Hamilton nodded silently. Merkwürdigliebe could see that neither man was very enthusiastic, but he assumed it was due to the fatigue brought on by combat. Combat fatigue or not, his job was to personally gather information so decisions could be made. He gave them his crooked smile again and pushed his glasses up. Before he could ask any questions, he had to use his free hand to wrest the first away from his face and force it back to his side. “Yes…” he began, ignoring his own strange behavior, “So, are the linear seats comfortable enough?”.

- The Chuikov -
- Bridge -

Capt. Dombrowski sank into his chair and breathed a small sigh of relief, which was actually the first sign of “normal” human activity a few of the newer crew had seen from him. He knew how bad things had gotten for his ship, but the Chuikov had pulled through. “Now you can see why I run this ship the way I do,” he said aloud, eliciting a few grumbles of reluctant agreement. Now that the largest danger had passed, his usual demeanor was slowly returning. “I want a full damage report,” he demanded, adding “Yesterday!” with a grunt. Among the veteran members of his bridge crew, his outbursts were eliciting smiles and rapid results more and more often. He was like a grumpy but loving father, even though he’d never admit to being worried about the crew.

After a few seconds of scrambling for the latest updates, his XO reported, “Captain, our engines are functioning at just above 70% of their full ability. There are holes in the outer hull being patched in half a dozen or so places, mostly toward the stern. Most of our guns are either destroyed or non-functioning. I’m getting reports of casualties on decks--”. “That’s enough,” Dombrowski cut him off, raising his hand. Another short rumble went through the ship as Gilliarme’s parting shots streamed past. “Just make sure we stay in formation. Have damage control teams make sure we’re not leaking air before they start working on the engines,”. The XO nodded and gestured to make sure the orders were sent on their way. “And make sure our mobile suits land safely. I don’t want a screwup in the hangar costing us another pilot,” the captain added gruffly.

- The New Yark -
- Bridge -

“Captain, Ens. Chareux and Ltjg. Sumitani have landed safely. Lt. Mello and Ens. Coggs are taking another pass around the ship until the hangar is ready for them,” one of the bridge operators reported. Capt. Guanche nodded calmly and ordered, “Mr. Rausch, take us closer to the Dervish, but stay in formation,”. The helmsman responded in the affirmative and asked without turning around, “So we’ll be close enough to launch suits to cover the other ships?”. The captain removed the helmet of his normal suit and smiled slightly. “Yes. I think our ship had the best fortune in the fleet during this engagement. We’ll have a bigger burden if the 4th has to do any heavy fighting,”.

- The Hamburg -
- Bridge -

“Recall Izuruha and get ready to accept the other two,” Lt. Stalvern announced, relaying the captain’s commands. The Hamburg was chugging proudly along, still next to the Chuikov and the Dervish. “Gah! Did Christopher manage to keep all his Nemos?” Loweno groused. “He’s a sly one,” he said, rubbing his chin as he watched Mello and Coggs circle around the New Yark. Of course his irritation wasn’t sincere, since he admired successful fighting ability no matter who exhibited it. “We’ll just have to try harder next time,” he resolved, already looking forward to the next scrape the Hamburg would find herself a part of.

- The Dervish -
- Bridge -

Abbey watched intently as the ships of the 4th began to send in damage reports and order confirmations. While their successful disengagement allayed some of his worries, he was still chiefly concerned with the retrieval of the Dervish’s pilots. “Is it still just Eddie and Marvin?” he asked as he began to drum his fingers anxiously. Filmore removed his headset and answered, “No sir. LtCmdr. Tideland just landed with Lt. David’s Rick Dias in tow… Sager said they had to extract Jack from his suit, and he’s being taken to sick bay,”. Abbey sat up straight and tensely asked, “Did he say how bad his injuries are?”. Filmore shook his head, “He didn’t get specific, sir. He just said the lieutenant looks a mess…”.

Behind the Dervish, thruster flares from mobile suits and a few scattered lights from beam fire still lit up space. Further beyond the men and women in their mobile suits flew the ships of Taskforce Echo, and beyond them one of the outer edges of Side 2. If the replacements among the pilots and crew of the 4th Advance Squadron didn’t understand what Hatte meant to the AEUG survivors before, then maybe now they were beginning to comprehend what had gone on here over a month ago. Abbey’s vision dropped to the deck after he heard about Jack being rushed to sick bay. He was feeling every year of his age as he reached up to remove his helmet and grimaced at the protest he felt in his joints. “Wade, as soon as we’ve retrieved all our pilots we need to calculate a new course,” he said, and Wilson nodded from the helm. “Carl, you’re an old man. Get used to this feeling. This is a young man‘s world…”

- Fritz & Michiko -

Fritz had burned up most of his remaining propellant in an effort to put himself on course with the Dervish, and by the time MacAlpin spoke up before jetting off after Pan he was far enough away that his transmission was a quick squawk of static. Even if Fritz had heard him and seen what was going on, he couldn’t have done anything about it. As he got close enough to the Dervish for the ship’s powerful communications to punch through the Minovsky, Michiko’s Rick Dias appeared to Fritz’ left. Jane’s voice came across as a crackling whisper, “…n, please report your status,”. Fritz glanced over at Michiko’s suit and then back at the flagship. “Jane, this is Fritz. I’m running on fumes. Warn the hangar that my landing might be a little rough…”

He gestured at Michiko’s suit for her to close in for skin talk. Once their suits contacted, he explained, “I’m out of propellant. Can’t waste whatever I’ve got left to move around with verniers until I’m at the ship,”. Michi’s voice rang in his ears clearer than Jane’s through the solid connection, “Fritz! James and Pan are headed in the wrong direction,”. Fritz’ jaw clenched and he turned in his seat to try and get a view of where Jim should have been flying closely behind him. “Damn it! There’s no way Heyden missed the flares, and the kid was right next to me…” Fritz grunted as he finally got a distant view of the duo as they sped off after Wolf and Sven. He cursed again and slammed a fist down on his controls. “Michi, I can’t pursue them with my suit in its current state. Go after them and bring them back, now. Don‘t take no for an answer, and don‘t let Pan push you around if they won‘t listen.”

Michiko hesitated and then nodded. “Yes, sir,” she responded, although she wasn’t confident. She broke contact with Fritz’ Rick Dias and turned around to accelerate back the way she had come in order to catch up with Pan and Jim. Fritz growled in frustration at his helplessness and did his best to turn his concentration back on landing in one piece without harming the ship. Once he was close enough, he burned off all of his remaining fuel with the forward verniers, cutting his speed and simultaneously adding a drift to his course that would hopefully put him right at the hangar doors. He grimaced and his grip tightened as his barely controlled landing brought him closer and closer to the Dervish’s outer deck. Finally, his Rick Dias clanged against the hull and stumbled forward before coming to rest against the body of the ship. Within moments of coming to a stop, there were mechanics rushing out to bring his mobile suit into the hangar.

- Hamburg Team –
- Near The Chuikov -

Emington saw Picard’s Hizack flew off from the area, apparently withdrawing along with the other Titans forces. Somehow they (the AEUG) managed to hold the Chuikov long enough to survive this ordeal. He saw nothing on his sensor and Minovsky Particles were still too thick for any means of long range communication. The interference also forced Randy to approach the nearby Chuikov for any new order, news or development.

The trip to the Chuikov took him a few minutes on cruise speed. Randy noted the distance to the ship, decided it was close enough and looking for Bernard. While on the search, he opened the line to the Chuikov. “This is Lt.JG Emington from the Hamburg Team,” he saw the operator face on the screen and continued, “Any news will be appreciated… and ah, please tell the captain. If there isn’t any more hostility, I request permission to get back to the Hamburg as soon as possible. Over.”

Randy was on the communication to the bridge when he saw Bernard’s unit on his screen. Glad that his comrade is unhurt he opened the line, “Bernard, glad to meet you back in here. For a moment I thought you’re already on your way back to the Hamburg.” Randy couldn’t help but to grinned to his friend. “As soon as we are cleared, let’s head back to the ship. She..” Randy looked at the ship, he saw several holes and other bruises through her skin, some are near the engine compartment. "Glad that she survives.”

Stukov's Marasai sped on past the two units without successfully sinking his saber into the Rick Dias. By the time he'd manhandled his Marasai to swoop back around on the AEUG suit, said unit was already scrambling out of the area. The Russian deactivated his right-hand beam saber and placed it in the shoulder-shield mount, then drew his beam rifle again, though the time spent on those motions was enough that the enemy was out of effective range at the end.

-

When Wes' Rick Dias broke away from Nick's Marasai, Leandro saw his opportunity. Without hesitating, the junior-grade lieutenant fired his beam launcher at the retreating rebel.

- Kalinin Team -

As soon as Wes disentangled himself from Nick, Bate fired off a two-shot burst at the Dias. Janice was quick to follow suit, letting off an adjusted burst from her own beam rifle. Both immediately vernier-strafed to the right to keep parallel with the Rick Dias. Cranston and Kuwani followed the movements, but kept their own weapons silent for the moment.

No sooner had Wolf contacted Sven that his threat indicator grew insistent. Wolf moved with barely any interference from conscious thought: he pushed Sven's damaged Marasai, and used the counter force to assist in his weaving to the right.

Pink Lemonade's bazooka round clanged against Wolf's lower left leg at too oblique an angle to detonate, but it did skew the Marasai's flight path. Wolf worked with it the hit to spin around and face his enemy. The strangely-colored Rick Dias from before. Another in standard reds not far behind. Wolf sneered and fired his main weapon at the pink one, hit the verniers to change directions sharply upward, then fired once again - at Jim - the moment his launcher was ready.

- Delta Team -

Sam and Shin's Barzams grouped up with Gilliarme's unit. In the star-studded backdrop of space, their blue thruster trails traced three paths that crossed and resolved to be parallel. Back to the Kirov.

Bernard stood watch on the Chuikov till it was among its sister ships. A spot light flickered from the Hamburg. It became a repetitious pattern that Bernard was able to recognize. Morse Code.

"...enemy forces withdrawing. Return to Hamburg." Bernard repeated.

Bernard did a quick scan for his C.O. before leaving when he spotted Lt. Emington's Nemo next to the bridge.

“Bernard, glad to meet you back in here. For a moment I thought you’re already on your way back to the Hamburg.” Randy couldn't’t help but to grinned to his friend. “As soon as we are cleared, let’s head back to the ship.”

"Roger. I was just scanning for you, besides I think we've just been recalled." Bernard's Nemo points to the signal from the Hamburg as he gently pushes off the Hull.

Jim McAlpin

Jim was unaware of the fact, but he was trembling. He kept an eye on Pan Heyden who skirted downwards nearly avoiding a direct hit. Perhaps he was paying too much attention and his Rick Dias suddenly collided with the remnants of a Marasai. The collision sent him barreling out of control and knocked him off course and for the moment out of harm's way.

Pan Heyden

"MCALPIN YOU ASS!! STOP PLAYING AROUND!"

Pan shouted at his unlucky wingman as he drew his saber closing the distance between him and the blue blooded Titan.

Jim

Mcalpin's face was red with embarrassment and Pan's licking didn't help him out much either.

"Ugh...I mean to do that!" He said with some artificial confidence and fired some suppressive fire assisting Pan with his attack.

Pan

Heyden expertly closed the gap and had entered striking range.

"You've met your match Titan!"

Like a pink lightning bolt Heyden slashed vertically upwards and would follow the motion by thrusting his bazooka straight out.

(Sorry for the delayed post. Had things to see and people to....I'm not sure if I have the phrase right. :p)

In the pursuit of the Rick Dias, the enemy unit clearly outclassed Patrick in speed and slowly slipped away. It wasn't until a message from someone ordering him to get back to the Kirov did he actually halt. Turning around, he radioed the speaker with a short but sweet. "Roger." Taking haste, Miller made his way towards the top of the Kirov and radioed again asking for orders.

It took seemingly forever, but the Marasai had finally broken off, and Greydon let loose a sigh of relief.

The enemy had done something wrong, he knew. There was little fire being directed at the MS, none at him, and a quick glance at his rear screens showed a large amount of mobile suits still moving around near the Alexandria, and enough beams being fired made it clear Wes was still fighting in pretty much the same place. Ian rolled his eyes. If Curren made it out of that alive, and judging by the amount of fire, he wouldn't do so unscathed unless he was a Newtype, Ian would have to give him a talk about communications.

Ian quickly adjusted his Rick Dias' speed and direction, keeping away from the dying battle, accounting for the damage it had taken to the right arm, and started back to the Dervish.

Sven registered Wolf's Marasai making light contact with his shoulder. Seconds later Wolf's voice crackled through his ear piece, "Your first sortie in a long time, Sven. Not bad for someone so rusty."

Sven really didn’t know Wolf, but he couldn’t help but feel slightly elated from the praise. Wolf was right, he was rusty. His Marasai was damaged. He sweated profusely and his right hand shook slightly from the withdrawal of adrenaline. But, he had survived. He hadn’t scored any kills but following up his lackluster performance in the early stages of the fight he had even managed to save Wolf.

He was wording his reply when his monitor notified him of following units, seconds later his threat indicator blared. Wolf broke contact as the lead Dias fired two rounds; he quickly returned fire with his Beam launcher. Sven turned the Marasai to face the pursing Diases but kept himself on route towards the Kirov. The two Diases closed quickly using their superior acceleration as an advantage. One of them collided with the remains of what had been probably Ray’s Marasai before laying down covering fire for the other.

Sven’s eyes darted between the two. He quickly recognized the two units, the one that had killed Ray, and the one that had plagued him in the fight so far. The pink one dashed quickly in to attack Wolf. Sven’s mind worked quickly, he couldn’t do anything against the pink unit. But, he could lay down cover fire against the other Dias as he headed to the Kirov. Bracketing the enemy unit in his crosshairs, Sven thumbed his Vulcan’s firing in quick bursts until he exhausted his ammo. He knew it wouldn’t do much but hopefully the brash pilot would back off, he had to still be shaken from his near death experience.

Rem yanked the data acquisition unit from the access port on the Dias and closed the hatch back up. The mechanics below were moving at a breakneck pace. Seeing he would be more in the way than anything else at this point, he looked around for Dr. M. 'Looks like he's already making his interviews...' That was the part of the assignment Rem was least looking forwards to. It wasn't that he was anti-social; far from it, he had quite a few friends and acquaintences at work. It was just that these pilots seemed hell-bent on antagonism in personal conversations, and he just wasn't in the mood.

Looking around the bay, he saw 6 Dias' there, including Eddie's and a severely damaged one that had just arrived. The pilot had been carted off to med-bay, but even the brief glimpse Rem had caught wasn't pretty. 'Seems a bit macabre to be rushing off to that one, I'll just do 'em as they come in.' Fritz's was being pulled in by mechanics and there was another whos right arm looked bretty badly damaged. With that, he kicked off towards Cowboy's Dias and maneuvered to the data port. He punched a few keys on the interface, adjusted a knob, and held the "New File" key until it beeped back at him. He went ahead and plugged it in, leaving it to download for a moment. Thinking for a moment, Rem floated over and landed by the Fritz's cockpit hatch, which was in the process of opening. Peering around the corner, he said, "Welcome back! Glad to see you made it."

--Curren--

Wes didn't have much time to let out a sigh of relief after getting away. Apparently he was worse off than he had thought with regards of being swarmed: it wasn't a double team he faced... it seemed like he was up against a third of Echo.

"Good god..." he muttered as he narrowly avoided Leandro's beam. However, Bate's attack managed to lop off Curren's already damaged leg, and the other attacks grazing his unit all around. The damage wasn't bad, but more glancing blows will be costly.

Of course, Curren retaliated. Switching his saber for his second beam pistol, he fought back with half a dozen well-placed shots at his closer enemies, all while pushing the hell out of his throttle so he could get the hell out of here.

Also to note... while it was certainly not time to be paranoid, it seemed like Team 2 purposely ditched him. No matter, since he admittingly didn't like them much either, and he'll survive just to prevent them or MacAlpin from getting the satisfaction of his death. After another burst of beam fire, Wes accelerated to extract himself from the fight.

"Hey!"

It had taken the orderly five shouts and a rough shake of the shoulder to get Cara's attention.

"Huh?"

"What do you mean 'huh'? You stupid or something? Your suit's as good to go as it's gonna get, so you better launch!" The man had to continue shouting over the din of the suit bay.

"Oh... oh! Right." Cara stood and pushed off the deck to her Hizack's open cockpit hatch. The fact that the lower-ranked orderly had spoken disrespectfully to her, a commission officer, never sank in.

Once in the cockpit, Cara had to press her thumb and forefinger against the bridge of her nose for a hot second while the husk of a headache retreated to a corner for the time being. That done, she slid her pilot suit helmet over her head and clicked it into place. By then, her Hizack was ready to go. She lumber over to the elevator, which took the machine up to the launch deck.

"Ensign Shiranui, Hizack launching."

The green machine was hurled into space once again. Cara was quick to bring it around to take one of the defensive points around the Herakles.

Bate adjusted his Marasai's strafe into a vicious dive to prevent Wes' parting shots from turning fatal. His team evaded as well, but the inferior performance of their Hizacks meant that Cranston lost his right leg when one of Wes' shots scored a lucky hit on the hip joint that connected the limb. Bate mentally groaned as he realized how much a hassle it would be to guide such a relatively inexperienced pilot in landing a one-legged mobile suit.

The modified Marasai chucked its beam launcher to both block Slim Jim's suppression fire and also to provide counterforce to redirect the machine "upward" and to the right. Wolf drew both his beam sabers as the pink AEUG dashed in close. The right-hand saber quickly flicked out downward to counteract Pan's melee attack, while the left-hand saber swept upward in an attempt to sever the Rick Dias' bazooka arm.

Now the right arm, in blocking Pan's upward vertical attack, would provide the leverage needed to leapfrog over the rebel suit rather than collide into it.

"You underestimate the strength of the Ritters and Hakssons, AEUG."

Came the tinny taunt of the Titan's pilot.

"Shut up and die! S*** sucker!"
Pan growled and pulled the trigger of his Rickdias' bazooka. The explosion was imminent but it wasn't enough to save his Rickdias' arm that was blown off in the other direction while Pan's rick dias was hurtled backwards into space towards Jim Mcaplin.

Jim

Jim had propelled himself forwards only to quickly put on the brakes as a stream of fire had pushed him back.

"woah woah woah!" He exclaimed not even noticing it was vulcan fire untill a moment later something real big and pink collided with him.

Heyden

Pan had smashed right into Jim. Out of frustration the pilot was quick to voice his dismay.

"Move forwards you worthless coward! those are just vulcan rounds!"

The Rick Dias' arm was successfully hacked away, but not before the bazooka fired. The shell slammed into Wolf's Marasai's left shoulder, obliterating the upper arm and sending the charred remains spinning off into space.

The blast sent Wolf's mobile suit hurtling back and away from the pink rebel. Some strong kicks from his verniers brought his flight under control, and oriented to fly back to Echo's warships. Those Dias' were in no shape to continue fighting, and thus Wolf and Sven were safe for the time being.

Wolf figured that pink Dias was lucky that Wolf and Sven were similarly incapacitated.

Jacob watched nervously as explosions blossomed and died and beam shots streaked through the blackness of space and tracer rounds stitched their way across the firmament in the distance. The battle was all but over, but there were still two pockets of fighting going on like the aftershocks of an earthquake.

Both were too far away for him to get to quickly and the last thing the fleet needed was for him to dart off looking for more trouble. Still, he keeps his weapons in hand, a beam pistol aimed at the nearest battle and a saber rippling with energy in his other hand.

He's still got plenty of fuel and if any of the Titans get it into their head to run any of the AEUGers down while they try to retreat, they'll find themselves running straight into the Dervish's defensive wall.
Yep...That's Texas in a nutshell. Why just say "f**k you" when you can put it on a flag?

(OOC: This is a short post since I’m waiting for everyone to back off and return to their ships so we can split threads again.))

- Outside Side 2 -

- The Chuikov -
- Bridge -

“This is Ltjg. Emington from the Hamburg Team,” Randy‘s voice crackled onto the Chuikov‘s bridge, “Any news will be appreciated… and ah, please tell the captain. If there isn’t any more hostility, I request permission to get back to the Hamburg as soon as possible. Over,“. The communications operator pressed the headset to his ear harder to drown out Capt. Dombrowski’s frequent loud outbursts of orders and responded in a raised voice, “Ltjg. Emington, the fleet is now withdrawing from the combat area. I would suggest you and your team return to your ship in case we need to re-launch suits to cover our backs,”.

- Michiko -

Michiko had managed to make up ground and was close enough to get a good look at the quick spat between the stragglers from both fleets that brought the bulk of the fighting to a close. Pan and Jim’s mobile suits clumsily bounced off of each other as Sven and Wolf retreated, and Michiko boosted across the distance between them to catch and steady MacAlpin. “Ah, crap…” Jim’s voice was transmitted into her cockpit through skin talk. Hoping Pan would be able to hear her as well at their short distance, Michiko said, “Ltjg. Heyden, we need to all fall back to the Dervish immediately! The retreat flares went up a couple of minutes ago!”. MacAlpin righted his Rick Dias and floated a short distance away from Michiko. “Well, it looked like Pan had the right idea…” he thought, internally groaning at the thought of what awaited him back at the flagship.

- Fritz -

While the opening of Fritz’ cockpit hatch may have looked routine to Rem, it was anything but. When Fritz landed he immediately tried to leave his Rick Dias, but quickly found out the mechanism (and part of the door itself) were partially melted and warped beyond useless. He frustratedly kicked at the inside of it a couple of times hoping it would slide out of the way with a little encouragement, but he soon realized his efforts were futile. He pulled his helmet off and chucked it at the floor of the cockpit, sending it bouncing back past his head. Sager’s voice crackled through after a few moments of angry silence, and Fritz explained the situation.

“Well yeah, I can see that. Let me get a wrench…” Sager replied, and after a little tinkering and a few expert whacks with a tool the emergency panel on the outside of the suit finally responded and blew the seals, allowing the doors to slide open. Fritz plucked his helmet out of the air and hunched down to climb out of his death trap and found himself face to face with one of the Anaheim Electronics eggheads. "Welcome back! Glad to see you made it,” Rem said from his perch outside the cockpit. “What the hell did you do to my beautiful machine?” Sager interjected in mock dismay. Fritz ran a hand through his wet hair and sighed, “I’m glad I made it back too,”. He frowned when he saw the state the Dervish’s mobile suits were returning in. “Guess you’re really earning your pay this month,” Fritz said with a small smile, consoling Sager with a pat on the shoulder. He wiped sweat away from his eyes and turned back to Rem. “So I guess you’ll be wanting me to answer some questions…”
