Thought I'd throw in a plug:
Me and my friend Avery Dame are now actively releasing new episodes of our long-languishing podcast, Queers with Beers. To say we're excited would be an understatement.
QWB is part political podcast, part friends catching up at the bar, part nerds fangasming over their obsessions. It's an interesting combination too, since Avery is an Alabama native, and I'm an Argentinian transplanted to the republic of Ireland.
Each episode is divided into three segments:
-News and what we're drinking,
-Transgender, queer and feminist politics discussion,
-Geek discussion!
I suppose the third segment is of most interest to the MAHQ crowd. In the first two episodes we've covered language usage in activism, Kamen Rider Hibiki, tropes in mecha anime, and the occasional tidbits about alcohol. Upcoming episodes see us discussing the Rose of Versailles, Batman, and I believe we've recorded an episode about the videogame industry as a democratic/nondemocratic medium.
