In a Universe that could have been...

Instead of dying, Admiral Halberton survives the Battle of Orbit and continues to serve the Earth Alliance. In the aftermath of Spitbreak, the Archangel retreats to ORB, although she isn't the only Alliance ship thinking in terms of a new side. Halberton is disgusted by the sacrafice of the Eurasian Army and Navy, and seeing Muruta Azrael launch an attack on ORB without even bothering to come up with a half-decent lie for pretext sends him over the edge. He meets with the captains of Eighth Fleet, and the decision is made that they will withdraw from the Alliance and prosecute the war in their own way. Acting on a tip, their first act of rebellion is to capture a convoy moving mobile suits from their production facility in Azraechel to Ptolemaios. This injection of new hardware gives them the ability to make war effectively.

In the mayhem immediately following the Second Battle of Jachin Due, many things happened. The Terminal Alliance had suffered grievous losses in its role of stopping the nuclear attack on the PLANTs and and destroying GENESIS, with Rear Admiral Lewis Halberton, Commander Natarle Badgiruel, Lieutenant Commander Mwu La Flaga, and Lieutenant Kira Yamato among the dead, along with more than half their fleet strength. ZAFT and OMNI fared little better, having suffered crippling losses themselves. In the confusion, however, survivors from the ranks of Blue Cosmos managed to slip aboard the the carrier Agrippa and secure an intact magazine carrying nuclear missiles, complete with the N-Jammer Cancellers as the ship slunk away in inertial flight, drifting unnoticed until it could light off its engines unnoticed.

The Terminal Alliance enforced the ceasefire as the politicians negotiated. ZAFT Chairwoman Eileen Canaver met with ORB's new Premier, Cagalli Yula Atha, and they spearheaded the Copernicus Accords, which lead to the Junius Treaty being signed by ZAFT, ORB, and the Alliance's new President, Dietrich Baum. The corruption and anti-Coordinator sentiment running rampant througout the Atlantic Federation had finally been brought to light, and with so much of its prestige gone the Atlantic Fed was unable to mount resistance when the Eurasian Federation pushed their man - Dietrich Baum - into the White House. With the Junius Treaty signed, all three parties licked their wounds, rebuilding their battered nations.

The Alliance finally realized that the Agrippa was unaccounted for instead of destroyed, and they knew it had been one of the nuclear missile carriers. Despite pressure from Atlantic Federal senator Joeseph Copeland to keep this under wraps, this information was shared with ORB and PLANT. The decision to locate the missing weapons together was reached easily under Baum, Atha, and ZAFT's new Chairman Durandel. All three nations contributed vessels to the search effort, and the Combined Task Force set out to locate the remnants of Blue Cosmos. National Leaders made personal pleas to former OMNI Commander Murrue Ramius to lead to hunt, but she passed at the opportunity, and instead the command was given to Commodore Kevin Wallace, the ranking member of the Terminal Alliance from Second Jachin still on active duty.

Blue Cosmos had dug in deep, though, and had scattered to the far corners of space, and with their forces they had scattered the weapons. However, the man pulling the strings knew there was no way to use those weapons without getting all the deliverymen killed, so he let the chaff have the weapons while he siphoned the best among them into his own Praetorian Guard. Those survivors from the Sixth and Seventh Fleets were supplemented by soldiers from his secret super-soldier projects and fresh recruits who had tested above and beyond the rest. While the Combined Task Force swept the stars and destroyed the forces he deemed expendable, he forged the best into something better. While the Combined Task Force managed to recover all the missing nukes, that was an annoyance. His new force made up for it - swift, silent, and deadly, like a shard of glass. Christened the Phantom Pain, his new forces began quietly arming with the newest technology he could get his hands on.

The success of the Combined Task Force gave leaders something to think about when the time came to disband it. That resolved itself into a new military force - funded and manned by all three nations, responsible to a multinational panel as a rapid response force, counterterror force, and as a check on rampant military expansionism. The result was the birth of the Joint Strike Force. It was large enough to stop anything short of one of the three nations total military might, and mobile enough to reach any hotspot in the Earth sphere within 36 hours. When the call came up for volunteers, many veterans of the Valentine Wars, including a huge percentage of the Terminal Alliance, requested transfer to the JSF to prevent the kind of bloodshed they'd seen in the Valentine War. On top of that, new recruits flooded their detailers with requests to join the Joint Strike Force, but the JSF was an elite unit, and it skimmed the cream of those applicants, taking the best only. Under the command of now-Vice Admiral Kevin Wallace, those nuggets were blooded in operations hunting the Zala Faction into near-extinction under the supervision of the Valentine War vets, and the JSF's prestige grew as the best special ops unit in space.

While the military arm of the Joint Strike Force played its part, the researchers of the three nations conspired together on Armory One and at Morgenrate, which had been agreed upon as the technical hearts of the JSF. The Morgenrate facility quickly developed the 'AREa Negation Automatic system, or ARENA system, which finally integrated fire-control and weapon systems on warships to the point that they could reliably shoot down the swarms of mobile suits that had felled so many ships in the War. Armory One soon produced the Lewis Halberton class destroyer, creating a new, powerful escort vessel, allowing the release of those ships which had been modified with ARENA back into their parent nations. Morgenrate produced a series of new mobile suits which were shipped to Armory One to link up with the expected mothership, the new strike carrier Minerva which was to replace the Arcahngel, Eternal, and Heracles classes within the ranks of the Joint Strike Force. However, the Phantom Pain were not without allies that had infiltrated the JSF. Those spies had betrayed the ARENA system to the Phantom Pain, who then armed their fleet with it, and equipped their new Girty Lue stealthed battle carriers with it. They also heard the very best mobile suits of the JSF were being shipped to Armory One for space trials, and one of their new battle carriers, the Muruta Azrael was dispatched on its own special operation...

Joining, definitely. The RPG I was previously in pretty much died, and I'm itching to start RPing again.
Just a quick question though - are we allowed to choose characters from within GSD canon, or does it have to be originals?

Canon characters are permissible here, just be sure to talk to our fine Staff and get the lay of the land first. Enjoy.

Hello everyone, we've just finished our first battle down on Earth, and things are certainly heating up between the J.S.F. and Phantom Pain. Both sides now have new gundams and mobile suits. Now that both the Seraphim and Minerva are headed towards Carpentaria only time will tell what lies in store for the brave souls on each side as Phantom Pain is starting to turn on itself, while the JSF suffer from personal loss and emotional trouble. Can the JSF save the world from the Alliance and Phantom Pain? Or will Phantom Pain win and succeed in their mission to kill off every last coordinator?

You can help decide! We are still accepting new applicants and always look forward to meeting new people. If you are looking for a good time, come on down and check us out.

Whew a lot has happened since we landed on Earth. The JSF and the crew of the Minerva have been valiantly fighting against the crew of the third Archangel class ship; The Seraphim. They safely escaped the Alliance blockade of Orb and even managed to capture the Phantom Pain sympathizers within Orb, the Seirans. Upon the Minerva's arrival at Carpentaria the crew of the Minerva had a little time off, as well as the crew of the Seraphim which had docked at Kaioshung, where the newly rebuilt Mass Driver rested.

Before long the Minerva received her next orders, they were to take out the Mass Driver at Kaioshung and seal the Alliance's gateway to space. As the battle began it became apparent that speed would be the key to the JSF's victory as the Alliance base there slowly began to pump out reinforcements. As the battle reached its climax, the Minerva moved in to destroy the Mass Driver, luckily for the Alliance they had the mobile armor Zamza-Za ready to defend it. The battle ended in victory for the Alliance, and now the Minerva is on the run.

The war is heating up and more is yet to come. Join us and help rewrite the course of destiny. http://s4.zetaboards.com/GSD_Project_R/index/

The Joint Forces Ship Minerva barely escaped its failed attack on Kaoshiung. Despite the intel they gleaned when the captured the Seiran traitors, they faltered, and the combination of fixed defenses and the deployment of the Zamza-Zah frustrated their attack. Fleeing across the Indian Ocean, the pilots of both the JFS Minerva and the AFS Seraphim dealt with the revelations of the previous battle.

Both warships transited west, with the African theater as their destination. ZAFT had regained the Victoria Mass Driver in the treaties following the Valentine War, and OMNI's Suez base was applying a healthy amount of pressure to one of the four mass drivers in the world. The Seraphim was headed for Suez while the Minerva was headed for Victoria. The Seraphim, however, found the Minerva off Diego Garcia, and launched a raid on the JSF's only operational Strike Carrier. The Minerva's air group scrambled, staging a desperate defense of their carrier while the Minerva poured on the speed, attempting to outrun the larger Archangel. A stern chase ensued, with the Seraphim hammering away at the Minerva with her powerful long-range missile batteries while the Phantom Pain's best mobile suit pilots swarmed the beleagured Joint Strike Force pilots.

Despite the firepower advantages of the Phantom Pain, the Minerva and her pilots knew that if they could stall long enough they'd escape missile range of the Seraphim, and then release the powerful ARENA antiair net from missile defense and unleash it on the Phantom Pain's mobile suit. Fighting to keep the marauding force spearheaded by Extended-flown Gundams at arm's length, the Joint Strike Force managed to hold them off long enough for their carrier to escape missile range of the Seraphim.

Reaching Victoria, the Minerva was surprised by a visit from Chairman Durandel himself, who had brought a cadre of ZAFT pilots with him to reinforce the understrength air wing of the Minerva and announced he would be asking Premier Atha of the ORB Union to increase her support of the Joint Strike Force.

In Suez, the Seraphim had docked at the massive military base, only for several of her pilots to be summoned. Reaching a videoconference room, they were greeted by non other than Lord Djibril himself, along with Johan von Habsburg. The leader of LOGOS, along with one of the major players of the organization, then delivered a message to the crew of the Seraphim.

Meanwhile, ZAFT's Medeterannian Squadron sortied from Gibralter, bound for Suez, as the Coalition force turned up the heat on the Alliance in the African theater...

Can the Joint Strike Force recover from their failure to surprise Kaoshiung? Will the Phantom Pain hold Suez against the Coalition as it pushes the offensive? Who is playing who onboard both the Minerva and the Seraphim? Join us and help answer these questions on Gundam SEED Destiny: Project R!

The JFS Minerva finished her repairs and put out into the Victoria Proving Grounds for shakedown trials. They are surprised, though, when the Captain of their nemesis, the Seraphim, shows her face alone and unafraid. She contacts the ship and asks to speak to the lead pilot, and it is finally discovered by both sides that the Phantom Pain's Captain Ross and the Joint Strike Force's Lieutenant Commander Marshall were lovers in the Valentine War. Captain Ross is persuaded to defect, and a heated battle ensues as the Phantom Pain pushes hard to prevent that.

Ross immediately gives up the location of Lodonia Island, where Phantom Pain's dirty tricks squad is still working. The Minerva is the closest unit, and she makes with all haste to button the place down. The most vicious battle yet is fought between the longstanding rivals, and pilots fall on both sides. Unfortunately for the Joint Strike Force, the assault on the base bogs down, and the Phantom Pain have enough time to fully evacuate their people and destroy all pertinent data. All that the computer forensics people can dig out is a vague reference to something titled 'GFAS-X01A' that has had massive amounts of resources devoted to it, and that something called the 'Central Planning Committee' is running the Phantom Pain's budget.

With Phantom Pain distracted by Captain Ross's defection and the Seraphim out of the defensive squadron, ZAFT's Medeterranian Fleet successfully pushes the Alliance out of their Suez Base. The focus of the War shifts to space as the terrestrial forces of both sides lick their wounds. The new commander of the Seraphim manages to force a request through command that commits all three of the Phantom Pain's Girty Lue stealth carriers to a nuclear attack on the Joint Strike Force's stronghold at Armory One.

The nuclear attack is launched in full force, and the Joint Strike Force launches a desperate defense of their headquarters. Despite their best efforts, a single nuke leaks through their defenses at the last minute. All eyes watch as it tracks onto the PLANT, until a new mobile suit screams in faster than anything ever seen before. It splashes the last nuke and proceeds to assist in routing the nuclear attack.

In the aftermath of the failed nuclear strike, the Phantom Pain retreats to their base at Daedelus, while the Joint Strike Force heads for PLANT. Both sides are flabbergasted as Chairman Durandel makes an unexpected speech, identifying exactly who and what that 'Central Planning Committee' was and laying the identities of all LOGOS out for the entire Earth Sphere to see.

How bad will the repercussions be now that Phantom Pain has gone nuclear? What will happen now that Chairman Durandel has called LOGOS out in front of the entire world? Will Mira Ross's information give the Coalition the edge to win the War, or will the Phantom Pain persevere and overcome? And what exactly are the long-term goals of Durandel, Djibril, and Habsburg? Join us and help answer these questions on Gundam SEED Destiny: Project R!
