It's not our problem if you post an "uncut" version anywhere else. Just don't post it here.

It's a good thing I asked; and rather creepy that you also went with the lightest version I wrote of it (I have five versions all in various stages).

But I will say that I nicely embarassed myself. Oops. And, I'm sorry.

One of these days, someone is going to go "You think you're so clever, aren't you?"

And I am going to look them in the eye and say "Why yes, yes I am."

---

“So, we’re about to meet these so-called Meisters?” Graham asked, coming to a stop beside Ali as the crew and Meisters of the Ptolemy awaited the arrival of the Trinities. Ali was leaning against the wall, and Graham didn’t miss the fact that he wore his pistol loosely and easy to grab.

“Yes,” said Healing Care. “They’ve already entered the airlock. They should be out just about… now,” she said as the pressurization chamber opened. If she was happy to see the pilots of the Gundams not in even Veda’s records, she hid it well behind a firm frown.

Everyone, Meister and bridge crew alike, watched as the three new figures approached. Though they had heard that three were siblings, it would have been impossible to tell by appearances: red, blue, and even dark green hair, and equally varied heights.

Former-Captain Mannequin stepped forward first, taking the lead. “Welcome aboard the Ptolemaios,” she said. “We thank you for your timely assistance the other day.”

And timely it had been; hardly the pre-planned ambush that had been set in the Chinese desert, the battle in the Australian outback had been unexpected and ad hoc for all sides; the Union’s standing armies in Australia had scrambled to capitalize on a freak accident of Celestial Being’s part in the middle of a Union task force, and that had startled the League into ‘offering’ assistance from their Southern Pacific garrisons, and then the AEU had joined in for good measure… it was all the violence that China could have been, but with none of the pre-planned coordination and preparation by either side. Had these mysterious Meisters not intervened, who knows how that battle might have ended.

“We are all part of Celestial Being,” said the tallest, speaking for the two smaller and younger ones. She was a tall woman with a shade of dark green hair, and a healthy tan told of many hours out of the pilot suit. “I am Johanna.”

“I’m Michel,” said the next tallest, a much younger girl was blue hair chopped short. To say her uniform flaunted her figure would be an exaggeration, but it kept no secrets either. By the girl’s brief dismissive glances at Soma and Healing, she certainly looked confident. Not so much after looking at the female bridge crew members, though.

“And I’m Nino!” said the shortest of the three, a young boy (of course) with strong red hair. He looked around, taking in every new sight like a kid on a field trip.

“And we are the Trinities,” said Johanna, offering a hand forward.

Kate took it and exchanged a firm handshake. “Welcome aboard,” she said. “It looks like we have a lot to talk about.”

Johanna opened her mouth to speak, but Michel stepped forward. “Before that, which one of you is the Exia’s pilot?” she asked. “It’s not one of you two, is it?” she went on, indicating Soma and Healing.

They shook their heads (well, Soma just said ‘no’), and Ali raised a hand. “That would be me,” he admitted, cautious and with more than a little suspicion. “What of it?”

Michel pushed herself forward, not caring when Graham had to stumble aside into the other Meisters to get out of her way. Stopping in the air in front of Ali, the blue haired girl took a careful look at the mercenaries unkempt face and nodded to herself. Ali stared back hard, but Michel didn’t even so much as flinch when she felt the tip of Ali’s knife prod into her stomach, warning her to back off.

“I just want to say, watching the way you tear through your enemies makes me totally hot,” the blue-hair girl confessed before seizing the initiative and raiding Ali’s lips with her own.

All sounds stopped as everyone watched the horrific sight with eyes wide open. No one as much blinked, unable to believe their eyes. After too long, it was the ones who knew Ali least who broke the spell.

“Michel…” moaned Johanna, rubbing her eyes in exasperation and wondering how she would work with the other Meisters now.

“Sis, stop that!” whined Nino at the sight of his sister kissing a guy. “That’s gross!”

The moment broken, those who knew Ali better were free to blanch to various degrees. Kati hid it behind a commander’s self-control, Soma adverted her eyes back to the other Trinities and quietly looked forward to returning to her apartment in Japan and more pleasant distractions therein, and Graham and Healing stumbled over each other in their rush to get away from the monstrosity before them.

Michel leaned back, smiling with barred teeth. “Is that a knife in your hand, or are you just happy to see me?” she teased.

“It’s a knife,” admitted Ali with masterful aplomb. “But if you want to come to my room later, I can show you some interesting ways to use it.”

Should be obvious. Alternatives!Trinities being genderswaps is a point I'm rather proud of: rather than put in other Trinities, why not just change them up a bit and see how it works? The answer being: horrifically well.

Name change was simple: just use the feminine form of the masculine names. Since Neena is spanish for 'girl,' I took 'boy' (niño).

Which one? 'Michel' pulling a Neena? Or the Ali-liner?

Originally I was going to end it with 'Nino' getting grossed out, if only for the irony, but I have to say the Ali-liner just fit better. Meister!Ali is, as always, a pleasure to write: upon thinking it over, I'm of the opinion that out-of-battle Ali is actually a pretty cool dude. He can be polite, charming, easy going, always competent, and much what people like in a friend. He's the kind of guy you could fight yesterday and then go out for drinks tomorrow. Just... try not to be on the wrong side of the battlefield.

The Ali line.

Yeah, I'd assume a somewhat "contented" Ali (i.e.- one that is given absolute freedom to fight as much as he wants in a high-performance machine) would be rather okay to get along with.

His men certainly have respect for him and joke around and praise him in the actual series, so were he a part of Celestial Being, I don't doubt he'd be fun to talk to. (When he's not traumatizing Feldt with his wacky stories about patricide.)

It's funny. After finishing the first Alternatives way back when, I found myself thinking of how Ali would react to the Nena bit. As it turns out, my vision was almost identical to yours all this time later.

Kudos on the gender flip. Here I was expecting the original Meisters (sans Tieria) as the Alternatives Throne Meisters, but you threw a hilarious curve ball.

Ha, found it. 8)
I know that Id heard of/seen alternative gender Trinities before and I now know why.

Also, way to make Ali very smooth. When Setsuna pushed Nena away I thought to myself that he lost out on a great opportunity. Nice to finally "see" a relatively "sane" reaction in such a situation

keep up the good work dean

Nice find! I've never seen that before.

Now if you could find the fanart of Saji trying to strangle an unresisting Neena, which I keep hearing about...

That was an interesting read, in a good way. I gotta say I'm alittle surprised by Ali's reaction though. On a side note

I wonder why I have this horrible feeling that that picture was clipped out of a hentai doujin.

Oh, you Internet, you.

How are you surprised at Ali's reaction Zeon? He's always been a smooth operator and AFAIK he's never turned down an offer for action of any kind.

And now I can't see it any other way.

I was going to make a comment about Evangelion parallels, but not with that shiny, new, horrible mental image ShadowCell made possible.

The concept of Ali as a meister frightens me frankly.

I'm very annoyed, not least because I can't seem to access photobucket now to see it. And yet the banter makes it so intriguing...

That said, I'm now terrified as to what sort of porn ShadowCell looks at in his spare time...

That it should, not least because it works frighteningly well. Ali would probably be the energizer of CB: he keeps destroying and destroying and destroying...

...suddenly, I feel motivated to write up a certain episode of Reformation.

Not now, mind you, cause I have class in thirty minutes, and I still need to start this week's drabble, but I definitely have a base to work with now.

That said, now I will forever associate ShadowCell with deviant hentai. Who would have thought that possible?

Looking back at the way he handled Kinue I see what you mean now.
