Draco Starcloud's Franken-Gundams: Now With New Site!

Post by Draco Starcloud » Mon Mar 06, 2006 6:26 pm

Hiya. It pleases me to be the first to make a Franken-Gundam topic here. I'd like to get the ball rolling with a few recent works of mine.

Anthrax*:

Mecha Ebirah:

*I'm still working on the color scheme for this.

Here's a link to my website where you can see more of my works:

This is my DeviantArt account. It's got a couple of things you won't see on my site:

EDIT:

As of June 27th, 2007, Draco's Custom Mobile Suit Hangar has hereby moved to http://starcloud.heliohost.org/starcloud/ !

My freakin franken mek. Made her for a mekton campaign back a year or so ago. I had some big story about it being equiped with remote camera bits that functioned as an advanced targeting computer... Its a chop of the X, GP01Fb, GP04(or 5:P cant remember) and a recolored ReGZ. As always, i take no credit for any frankies of mine.

Draco, good to see you're still making those giant monsters. :)

Now, when will you show your face in Keihou again, hmmmmmmmmmm?

There's a reason why they're called 'frankens'. You don't recognise parts of lineart from any of them?

Wow I really really like this one. And the Ebirah definately looks fearsome. Good job you two!

Good news, amigo. Lalahsghost told me everyone can have their own thread instead of everyone posting their Franken-Gundams in one thread.

When I freakin' feel like it!

And have something worthwhile to post.

One of the hardest of my Mecha Kaiju to design too. Had a devil of a time on the torso, though everything else wasn't too hard to do. Coloring was pretty easy too.

Do you think that you could make a GuAIZ R in dark blue coloring?
REGENE: (Grins) Any last words, Buuuuur-ing?
(Bring just grits his teeth and the Garazzo’s escape pod breaks off from its main body, flying straight up.)
REGENE: (Shakes head) Right then. Forgot we don’t talk on Planet You.

I see you're still designing very well, Draco.

Wish I could get the lineart in the condition you do so I could franken better, =(. I'll have to dig up all my old links and show everyone sometime.

Nonetheless, nice designs :o.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be able to make a Dark Blue GuAIZ-R I'd be happy with. I find all the GuAIZ-R lineart I've seen to be less-than-suitable for editing.

I'll ZIP file my lineart collection sometime so it'll be in easy-to-mail packages.

EDIT: I recently completed this work of mine to use in an RPG. It's called the Hierophant. Two cookie points to the first bloke who can list all the parts correctly!

EDIT AGAIN: It's so lonely not being able to double-post.

Inspired by a whole bunch of stuff, here's my take on a CE-era Gelgoog:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/ ... fender.gif

I can't think of an acronym for it better than one I heard on another board: Giving Every Last Grunt Opportunities to Obliterate Gundams.

Whee! Double-posting so I can show you guys my new stuff.

Mecha Baragon:

Since the M-2 Astray was removed as a canon suit, I decided to make my own. Though recently I've acquired some new lineart that may result in my changing the design.

I've got a couple more designs in the works that I'll be happy to post when they're ready. Just need some coloring.

Okay. On the Hierophant we have Buster Gundam from the waist down, Justice torso, V2 Assault shoulders and arms, The O's beam rifle, Freedom Gundam primary wings (that is the wing sections that contain the Balaena plasma cannons), GP-02A face, but the helmet and mohawk I can't ID. All this in Andy Waltfeld's Murasame/Gaia colors (sorta).

They are kind of Andy's colors aren't they? Meh.

*shrug*

You're way off on the face though.

If there's one thing I like about you Draco, it's how you make these frankens which resemble monsters instead of mobile suits; I mean they're so cool.

I expecially loved some of the ones you used to post back on AITW back in the day. Keep up the good work, =D

That reminded me that I have another one of those Mecha Monsters that isn't posted here.

Mecha Kumonga: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/ ... umonga.gif

I actually had made this one before the Mecha Ebirah, but I keep forgetting about it even though it's really cool.
