August '07 Franken-Gundam Contest

For August '07, we're going back to basics.

There is no restriction on parts; go hog wild and use your imagination to the best of its abilities.

The only restriction is that previous contest winners can't win this one. Therefore, the following people are allowed to enter but forbidden to win:

Deathpony
Cleft

The contest runs from August 1st to August 15th. Please don't post any entries until the 8th so you don't discourage anyone from entering.

For this contest, there will be two winners: a Mods' Choice winner and a People's Choice winner.

EDIT: Keep in mind that this has to be your own work. Anyone who submits artwork that is not their own work will be disqualified.

I have a small question~

Are multiple images of the suit allowed in this one? (Things like armed/unarmed, front/rear views or various configuration pictures e.g. pack systems, since I'm aware that they weren't in the last one.)

The theme for this contest is... there is no theme!

Honestly, I dont see why there is a need for a theme here. The last time we did this, everything worked out fine and we had alot more participants than the recent contests as well.

When I brought up the idea of an August contest, it was agreed that this would be a no-theme contest since the last two had themes.

so believe in everyone else for your inspiration or else! Thats what I been doing and my design seems fine. Remember HEART, COURAGE AND LOVE AND THAT LINE FOR YOUR INSPIRATION!

Maybe, maybe... It's only the fifth right now, I have plenty of time to build a franken if need be.

Unit Type: Tactical Demolition and Sabotage Mobile Suit
Overall Height: 18.3 metres
Base weight: 61 metric tons
Equipment: GN drive
Armament:

2x Light Plate Shield, fixed to shoulders;
GN Launcher, mounts on right shoulder in storage, operated overarm;
GN Mines, store latched on shoulder shields;
2-Tubed Retro-Rocket Launcher, mounted in weapon pod on back;
GN Beam Knife, stored in weapon pod on back;

Technical and Historical Notes: (Always add them, even if I haven't a clue what I'm doing)

The GN-004 Gundam Icarus is the fourth member of the Celestial Being's Gundam team, and closely modeled off a similar frame to the GN-001 Gundam Exia and GN-002 Gundam Dynames. Much like the others of its kind, the Icarus takes on a specific role in combat which designates it as a 'tactical demolition and sabotage' mobile suit. Armed with a variety of mines and explosives, the Icarus is designed to be dropped behind enemy lines and disable military forces, such as other mobile weapons, before they enter combat; a preventive strategy to decrease the number of suits that come against its teammates. Due to extended operation in areas where it will likely be greatly outnumbered, the Icarus is more than capable of defending itself in face-to-face battle using its GN Launcher (though designated more commonly as an anti-craft weapon), and a small defensive GN Beam knife.

Unfortunately, the pilot of the Icarus suffers injuries in active duty, and the Gundam is therefore left in temporary storage until a new capable pilot can be recruited, or the old one recovers.

Jesus, I have to start tracing instead of Simmons-splicing my art.. I have a feeling that the tracing method (observation from other threads comes into this logic as well) is going to win this one as more and more drop out of utilizing straight lineart splicing for Simmons art..
