dreacon wrote:Not bad, but i'm not sure what i think of it myself. then again recoloring white to black is a real pain, i havent figured out a way of doing it that isnt alot of work
Thanks. Came about more as a result of me messing around at work (shhhh...) than as anything with real thought into it. Since I'm doing the coloring in paint (still not quite worked out the kinks in Gimp), it involves selecting a pixel at a time and washing over the whole image. It's a pain, but there's not much to do here today (again, shhh...). :D
Yuusha Tokkyu Might Gaine wrote:Not bad, it kinda looks like a "What if" scenario, if Domon was infected with DG Cells. For a hyper mode, I was expecting it to be blood red. That probably would've worked better
For the Hyper Mode (which was actually the start of the whole thing) I just thought to make it as much the opposite of the bright, shining gold as possible (hence, black). After that was done, I changed the eyes/sensors to red because the green just didn't quite work. Besides, I like black suits. :D

Oh. And it's not DG Cells, it's the DARK HADOU!!!*
Yuusha Tokkyu Might Gaine wrote:Now that I think about it, the colors on Shin Shinning normal mode are kind of trombeish
Now that you mention it, yeah it does! Heh. Hadn't noticed that.

MP Kampfer
MP Kampfer Armed

Designed as a possible replacement to the Zaku II in ground combat, the MP Kampfer saw limited production, arriving too late in the War to make the frontlines, or to make a difference in the War's outcome.

I dislike the shoulder shield. It blocks a set of the Kaempher's much-needed thrusters. Also, I don't think green is a good look for the Kaempher. Also, why does the Kaempher need a Heat Saber when it already has two beam sabers?

Or maybe those were removed for the MP type.

I like the gun though. That was a good idea.

Those thrusters were removed (though I left their shapes as mount points for the shield). If you look around, there are several other thrusters missing, since the thinking is that it would be a heavily armored ground unit.

The beam sabers were removed in favor of the cheaper heat saber.

Edit: Oh, and the green is what I think of as a standard grunt color, though I admit it came out a bit brighter than intended.

Edited Again: Darkened them a bit. I like these colors better, I think.

Thanks, Draco. I thought so, too.

By the way, I just noticed, looking through Deathpony's stuff, that he'd done a Gyan 2 a while before I did (with even one or two similarities--though his looks much, much better). Sorry, Deathpony! Didn't mean to copy you, there.

RGM-85 Matsu

The RGM-85 Matsu was developed by the Federation in the years following the Gryps conflict. Designed to be a general-purpose suit using technology from the RX-178 Gundam Mk.II, the Matsu saw limited production and use before being replaced by the Jegan. Still, a few were put into the field in the hands of the Sakura squadron in their conflicts with Zeon remnants at Side 6 in U.C. 0090-0091

Big thanks to deathpony for the help coloring it!

:( No love for the Matsu (honestly, one of my favorites that I've done). :(

Oh, well. Here's my entry into the "shoots stuff a lot" category of gundams.

There are only two ways to comment on that thing. Number 1 is nice job.

Number 2 is this.

Just some recolors. Been busy lately.

Exia Char Custom (3x faster!)
Exia Titans (3x more arrogant!)
Exia Deep (3x darker!)
Exia OddlucK Custom (3x stranger!)

I really like this lineart for the Exia. Nice and easy to color.

Love the Exia recolors. The Titans Exia particularly looks awesome in those colors and the tag line made me chuckle. your Oddluck colors are awesome.

Wouldn't Freedom/Strike Freedom be more appropriate for this?

Ok. I'm having way too much fun recoloring the Exia. The art I have is just so easy to recolor! :D

Anyway, last ones (of the Exia)... (for now).

It's amazing how well the Exia lends itself to the Astray frames look.
Exia Red Frame
Exia Blue Frame
Exia Gold Frame
Exia Green Frame
Exia Black Frame

Somewhat familiar recolors.
Exia Amuro Custom
Exia 009
Exia Novia Custom

Random recolors.
Exia Ground
Exia Arlith Custom

Heh. Thanks. :)

I've been doing a lot of recolors, lately (mostly of the GM Custom, but also of the Gouf and Excia and a few others of which I actually have decent art). But, I've been really stumped for frankening ideas for quite a while. Everything that occurs to me has already been done better than I could do it. Ah, well. Maybe I'll make more like the SPM-75A. ;)

Re: OddlucK's recolors/frankens--Updated 10-30-07

Work in progress.

Started fooling around with Sketchup (when I noticed it was on my work machine 8) ). I've started with ships and planes before I try to tackle mechs.

Very, very much a work in progress.

Still fiddling with Sketchup. Parts I love, parts... need work.
