ZZ Gundam's junkyard

Ok everyone, this is my first attempt at frankening. Please comment even if it's just to laugh uncontrollably.

DISCLAMER: What you are about to see may make your eyes bleed. Click links at your own risk.

My first franken:
MS-14 RD Gelgoog High Mobility Rick Dom variant (link fixed)

Note: If this design (or something like it) belongs to someone else, my apologies. Let me know, and I'll remove this.

Next up:
MSA-099 HS 100 Dias

I think this is an improvement, at least I hope. :)

Wow, you're attempting frankening? XD

Link doesn't work because you added a "/" at the end.

Aside from that... You should never go with true black. All the black areas look really bad... you should have gone for a dark gray.

But considering it's a first attempt, it isn't too bad. Usually people don't try recoloring on first attempts.

I like the idea, but as Shori pointed out, I dont like the black too much. It covers up the details, and a dark grey would work much better.

On another note, this was a bit on the rough side. The design was missing a thumb and there were lots of stray pixels and missing lines. But overall, it wasnt too bad for a first attempt.

Looks like he just painted over the outline in some parts.

My bits: the grey-black on the Dom's feet is good for coloring while pure black is good for outlines.

Hmm..not bad combinations, but ill give you a few tips,

1) Try removing the grey background first, it makes it much easier too fraken with those types of images (For me that is)

2)As shori said try not to use Full on Black.

3) and last of all, try removing some of those stray pixels in your MSA-099 HS 100 Dias

What program are you using? Because that can make a world of difference on what you can do, and how pollished it will come out.

I use a free program called Gimp that i got from download.com
And its really easy to use, and it automaticly makes mark's pics transparent and youll just have to make the back ground of a new file you use to edit off of transparent when your opening it.

Heres a tip, when you want to use black as a color, go over the edges of the detales in pure black (those little lines of detale you know) then go witha dark gray for the main color of black, sometimes witha secondary darker gray for the edge colors and minor detaling if you want to, though sometimes when im doing black i just use 2 colors, darkgrey and black

Well, I'm finally back with more frankening.

Note: If these designs have been done, my apologies.

First up:

RX-178 NT-1

And you can't have that without this:

RX-178 NT-1+FXA-05D

I think I've improved at least a little, please leave constructive criticism, and thanks for viewing. :D

Edit: Links fixed, sorry for the inconvience.

I think there's something wrong with the links I couldn't bring up either one
of them.

Those are much improved, but it looks a little top-heavy, almost gorilla-esque...

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, the "Alex mk II does have a gorilla esque look to it. I like its look overall, but I'm sure a little fine-tuning couldn't hurt. Here's to Gorilla Gundam.

That was my work about a few months back, with a similar idea behind the design. I have to say, compared with my crap work with the idea, you did a much better job with this idea than I have, especially the coloring. The only issues I see with your design is that its a bit grainy and on the rough side, but it still looks great. Good job. 8)

First of all, my apologies EZero8. I had no idea this was your design before, :? I guess great minds thinks alike, eh? Heh, we even both did a Super Gundam version. What a coincincidence, lol. And thanks for saying I did justice to it.

Secondly, here's my latest design (hopefully not also someone else's idea)

MS-14C RD Gelgoog Cannon High Mobility (Rick Dom Type)

*This is an improvement on my first franken, using a somewhat different design, and far better color choices.*

I rather like the new designs you've added, especially the gelgoog cannon high mobility rick dom variant. Heh, try saying that 3 times fast.

Anyway, it still isn't ever going to be able to beat my custom "V-FIN GM!"

just saying <_<

Oh, another Jacksonville'er? Interesting. Interesting indeed, Hmm.

You're steadily getting better, but your work still has room for improvement. I see quite the few errors which could be easily corrected.

Looks pretty good, but you left the grey background intact under the arms instead of filling in white and the knees look like a couple of the border lines were cut off of them.

On another note, it's good to see someone else here who has seen Votoms...

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've touched up the Gelgoog a bit, and removed the gray background from around the arms. It should a little easier on the eyes now.
