KVLTIST'S Gunpla Dioramas

Here are some photographs of some Gunpla Dioramas I have been working on (excuse the rough quality of the kits, my first two real Gunplas other than random Wing and SD kits I built as a kid)

Shot with 550D and standard kit lens, I will try to shoot with a 100mm Macro next time to get a stronger look, hope you like it!

I would like to make a Sentinel/Ma.K photonovel, are there any creative people here on this board who would like to help with writing and editing?

These all look really great! The last "work in progress" one is actually one of my favorites. How long did these take you?

I wish I'd be able to help you with the photonovel, but time constraints and sillyness irl at the moment.

However, I will tell you I love those dioramas, they are pretty well done, I imagine I could see those on the inner print of one of the gunpla manuals that do similar things. Pretty nice weathering effects that go well with the scenes.

Overall, pretty nice, especially for your first models (I've only gotten around to painting two of my HGUCs, and I am at the moment too scared to paint my MGs because of monetary reasons and me not wanting to ruin the kits xD)

Thanks, building the models and the diorama base took the longest actually, if you factor in drying times for paint/etc, Photoshop is quite fast if you save all your tedious techniques as actions! :D And also, I made the mistake of using air-drying sculpting medium to make the "hills" and it kept shrinking when cured, so I had to go back and keep re-applying new layers.

Thanks, I was inspired by the "Maschinen Krieger" photo books that I saw in a local bookstore, the vintage-style photography definitely helps hide a lot of the "model" aspects of the photos as the film grain kinda hides the plastic-y feel of the Gunpla. I'm working on a degree in art, so glad to see its paying off!
