Hi-res scans, digi-coloring, frankens, & cool stuff [Grebo!]

Hey all,

I've lurked here for a long time, but I figured I'd share some of my scans, colorings, and I-guess-they're-Frankens. I usually scan from actual paper, at high resolution, and then color in Photoshop.

First up is Kazumi Fujita's rough design for the Gundam ZZ. I call it the "MSF-010 Gundam HyperZeta," but that's just me.

Re: Grebo's Geeky Goodies

Looked like a mishmash of design aspects from Titans + AEUG (and influenced Neo-Zeon) but cool nevertheless. Keep the pics coming!

Re: Grebo's Geeky Goodies

Carrying on, here's Mamoru Nagano's rough design for the Gundam ZZ. (Kazumi Fujita's version, above, is actually based on this design.) Nagano's ZZ has been dubbed the "Proto-Epsy Gundam" in various obscure articles, and I give it the serial number "MSN-010" for my own reference.

Next up, here's a very obscure item. From the back of an old issue of Hobby Japan EX, here's a reader-submitted design for a redesign of the Perfect Gundam. I think it's very cool-looking, as it bears some similarities to Kazuhisa Kondo's work.

And now for a couple of what can only be called Frankens...

The "Turn Delta II" is a modification of the original Turn Delta, from Delta Astray. I love the design of the Turn Delta's head and I am also very, very taken with its backpack/wing gimmickry. However, I hate the Turn Delta's color scheme and I also dislike the design of its arms and legs. Since it's a descendant of the original Astray (which I also adore) I grafted basic Astray arms and legs onto the Turn Delta's body. The result:

(hi-res B&W of the original Turn Delta)

And finally (for this post, anyway) we have the RMS-108 Marasai. It's one of my favorite Mobile Suits from Zeta Gundam, and I've been thinking about a trio of aces not unlike the Black Tri-Stars who pilot Marasais. To that end, I decided to make use of the RMS-108's bilaterally asymmetrical design, like so:

RMS-108R, RMS-108, RMS-108L

Alright, that's enough for the moment. More soon!

Annnnnd here's some B&W lineart. I'm working on a new gun for it, seen here:

Re: Grebo's Geeky Goodies

After scanning in the MBF-P0# Gundam Astray, I decided to try it out in a bunch of different colors...

Classic Gundam style, Alex-esque blue:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... Blue-1.jpg

Classic Gundam style, green accent:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... cRed-1.jpg

Classic Gundam style, red accent:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... reen-1.jpg

Classic Gundam style, RX-93 color palette:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... ndam-1.jpg

Titans Gundam MkII color palette:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... tans-1.jpg

Char Aznable/Johnny Ridden coloration:
http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... Char-1.jpg

Also, I found some cool fan-made original mech and I liked it so much I colored it. The only text I could make out was "D-Volt," but I'm not sure if that's the name of the artist or what. Anyway, here it is:

http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... olt_BW.jpg

And here it is, with my coloration choice:

More a-comin'! Please give me your comments!

VF-19 modifications

Okay, here's some more stuff. The YF-19 Supernova Alpha One from Macross Plus & the /VF-19 Excaliber from Macross Seven:

I like the VF-19 having multiple head designs, but I really don't like the revisions done to the body in M7. So, here I swapped the VF-19S head onto the YF-19.
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... 1306658466

Similarly, I like the prospect of the VF-19 having actual Super Parts, but I wasn't too keen on how the boosters were attached. So I reoriented them.
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... 1306658464

Here's a Super VF-19A in Macross Plus colors:
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... 1306658471

And here's a Super VF-19A in Macross VF-X 2 colors:
http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... 1306658471

I've got plenty more a'comin'. Seriously, I'd love to know what people think of this stuff...

Very nice. Though I personally think that Stargazer's legs look even better on it.
A looong time ago, before I had PhotoShop, I grafted the Stargazer's legs and arms(using the shoulders and feet from Blue Frame Second L to the Turn Delta...
I should redo it, I guess.

Still, really nice work.
