If you can clean that up nice and good, wouldn't mind attempting to piece that together in Google Sketchup for you. :o

HORY SHIET CHARACTER ART BY TURINU

That's like the first hand-drawn art I've done in ages? Misaligned boobs; Check! Wonky Proportions; Check! Weird Feet; Check! Horrible hands; Check!

Anyways, comments on it would be appreciated. Will eventually get around to cleaning it up and coloring it, so I figured I'd drop it here since it's a technical sketch/doodle.

Re: Doodling General discussion, lol

Boobs don't look that horribly misaligned to me. On the rear view though, they look quite oversized. :P

Also I cleaned up the superplane a little bit, (it's the same link) and added a front view to give a better idea of what the silhouette looks like if you're up to the idea of making SketchUp model. I also added a scaled (180 cm) pilot for size comparison.

I also added some notes about the aircraft's control plates, though I haven't done anything showing how the VTOL, flaps, landing gear mechanics, speedbrakes, etc. work. I also don't think the overall drawing of the aircraft is too consistent from different views.

I've seen worse, lol.

Be creepy; stare at people in the streets; make young women feel very uncomfortable as you sit there and stare

You can learn a lot about how the body looks

paint scheme'z

Just a sketch of a potential paintscheme. Pelly is the same as always, but the F-16 is public domain lineart from the US Air Force official website.

Added a red MiG-29 and a blue F-20...

Since I haven't posted in so long...made something, at last, a rough drawing plan.

@#$% legs. No, really, @#$% legs

I've been throwing some sketches together before going back to work on larger "projects."

Yoshimoto seems to always be getting banged up doesn't he?

You should do a fimal version of the Yoshimoto in that pose :| the design is essentially aesthetically perfect.

Nice but aerodynamically unsound. You've got a lot of detailing where you don't actually need it. Focus on the planes profile and outline, then work in the detail gradually.

Also um... You've got 4th generation intakes which are kind of horrid when you're super-sonic. they need to be further apart and angled (look at the F14) or you'll stall in high-alpha. Another thing is top speed stability is negated as the sleakness of the angle drawn between the nose and the leading tip of a wing. I'd make your nose section longer.

Also uh... You've got launch-bays either side of the intakes... That's very valuable space you're wasting, dear.

I like it but if you want a taste of where you should be heading next in your design work ('further into the future' as it were) try thinking about how these things would fight eachother and what next-generation advantage could be implemented.

Flexible aero-elastic airframe (Inspired by BMW's GINA Concept car could be a good start). Or maybe a specialised engine that super-heats air from a nuclear reactor once it hits a certain speed, negating the need for traditional fuels in intercept roles, giving it mach5+ oomph. Maybe the whole wing pylon can shift or maybe the intakes can change shape or adjust angle with a flap or lip to force air into it. Or maybe the fighter's intakes can actually double up as a thrust-reversal system for thrust-based breaking.

You could go really nuts with this stuff.

I disagree. It looks very good in its pose but the center of mass being the legs rather than the torso means it'll have serious problems running. Digit-grade legs are nice but something like a flip out heel so it can stand without having to constantly re-adjust its balance would be nice. Like the knee flap-locks on the ED209.

The outline and profile is nice but the interior detailing looks pretty dull. Very clear references, especially with the pectorial paneling on the chest. And the blade would fuck up its center of mass if it wasn't symmetrical. If the blade can't flip over for a frontal attack, you're seriously limiting its range.

And the head. It looks very Jehuty. Stop thinking about what looks cool and start thinking about why you make the decisions you do and you'll find your work improving hugely in a short time. For the record, I really dig the proportions but I think the knees need to be offset by having another bulky shoulder, like the one on the other side. A cod-piece or extending the hip panels further down would also offset some of its dimensions. Throw in a cowl or some sort of cloth over one of the shoulders and some asymmetrical armour and you've really got something special.

How big is the Yoshimoto? What scale?
Her clothes aren't staying on. The top half is interesting, if a bit showy. The half-revealed buttocks are a bit much on the pants and the lack of any covering on the thighs is... Kinda meh. Worst really is the way there are leg-coverings which rely on already flimsy material to hold them up by what appear to be garters. Next, the hair is going to get stuck behind her every time she sits down. This could be a point of the plot but anyone as pragmatic as a pilot would likely get sick of something like this and cut it off or wear it differently. Hair over the eyes is also going to become annoying, especially inside a helmet. And what is the purpose of those fingerless gloves and cuffs? Do they do anything?

Sorry to be harsh. My thing is dissecting other peoples' work.

Sorry if I seem rude. I think we should actually be providing feedback on eachother's work.

Whoa, some heavy shots in that critique. I'm glad someone is "throwing the punches." stay harsh. it's good. Keep it up.

- Yoshimoto as with all my mecha are suppose to be ~3 stories tall.
- The head looks like Jehuty... I've never noticed that. The "ears" aren't there for show (entirely), they serve as part of a signal suite giving the mecha a greater communication and sensor range, the ability to eavesdrop on enemy signal traffic and communications, as well as some jamming features. now on the other hand, under that face plate Yoshimoto does have functional jaw....
- Yoshimoto's actually missing the right shoulder armor there, his entire design is symmetrical. The swords are made of a liquid metal like material called Malleable State Blade (MSB) and can be generated out of either end of the forearm mounted blade sheaths. It's also capable of firing shards of MSB out at high speed.
- The heel spike near the ankle is actually made of MSB, like the swords, and as such is able to extend out and down to the ground to serve as something akin to a large heel. In practice it is more often used to generate a blade during heel kicks then something to stand on.
