"homework" do some really stupid quick sketches -with out erasing more then absolutely necessary, scan them without cleaning them up and I'm sure me and sera will have some constructive criticism for you. (and maybe other people too XD).

DID YOU SAY HOMEWORK!?!?

I also cleaned it cause I thought it looked really nice (I couldn't help it! I only have 3 days left of using SAI >.<)

It's basically a combo of 00 and Reborns Gundam. The four thing on the back are GN Sword/Rifle Bits and the Raiser System along with the Raiser itself are integated into the machine. And for more hax it also has the Ignition mode where the GN Bit on it's back unfold to reveal more verniers and produce the cooly effect like the Exia did. If you look at the Bits you can imagine where it splits and stuff. (Should I draw it??)

And I have a confession. I.. Love moe anime.

I had more but It took forever to upload and I accidentally clicked out of the upload page so I gave up x.x

Btw, do I double post too much? If so I'll try to hold my anticipation to post for more than two days. Sorry If you mods were eyeballing me >.<

*Runs Off* PAGE THREE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!

I doubt the mods would really have a problem with your double posts so far, the only ones I would have just edited together instead of replied after was your fourth and third to last posts.

ah. I dubb thee Ubber Gundam No.00001 [GN]

first, let me point out that what I meant was for you to blast out like 3-5 rough speed sketches, limiting your uses of an eraser (mainly so we could see the sketchy lines and gain a better understand of how you draw. (makes me sound like master asia except teaching that martial artists speak with their fists trying to get you to speak trough your pencil.) So, the Often-Defeated of the South says do more! one idea, btw would be to draw existing designs so you spend less time thinking about the design and more time putting lead to paper.

anyway on to me commenting on this one. First thing I notice right away is that the right leg is leaning too far in, particularly the lower leg. if you hunt around MAHQ you'll see that the foot shout be much further from the mecha's center line then currently. next point of note is the left shoulder is spaced too far away from the torso, if the body was to rotate to where we look at it straight on we'd see exposed joint connecting the shoulder to the torso. perspective for the most part is post on, the only place where I'd be bugged is with the upper right blade bit.

Random bump, I know. But I've been wondering how do you make "Floating" Images? What I mean is images like this. It seems like an interesting process and I could probably make some decent Avatars once I learn how. Hopefully its something I can do from Photoshop-like programs. I don't want to DL any new stuff.

I meant that if you pasted it on to this board (for example), the white background would be transparent and there would not be a white border... Eh basically no white frame/outline/whatever. I think I spotted O'regan with an Avatar like that.

oh, then the background is just transparent. I'm not actually sure how they do that. I never bothered to try to figure it out. I know a similar method is used in video games for making tattoos and similar effects on characters or objects.

It's just a PNG file, despite the URL saying it's a JPG. GIFs also do it, just remove the background from the image and save it as a PNG.

Fwu ha ha ha ha...

I've done it.

I've made.. Something will surely get me some more replies.. I will no longer have to grovel for Sera and Crash to review my stuff.. because..

I drew Mecha Musume!!

Ok. Lol. I was bored. I got the idea from Sera's Thread after looking at his version of AC:fA. (yeah, there I go stealing yet another idea from him  ) So I thought, "Hey, what do people on MT like? Well. They like Gundam.. and I think they like girls.. So.." And then I went to make two of my earlier Gundam designs more.. uh, appealing for the hell of it.

00 Reborn

Mrs. Done Found this one a bit harder to do. I'm starting to get the hang of the whole "Make Mecha parts into girl accessories" thing.

Tell me what you guys think. I don't usually draw anime characters very often and doing something like this is usually unheard of from me. I hope you guys liked my little pun on the 00 Gundam :P

Sorry I haven't been commenting. Been swamped with school, so I generally have been abstaining from writing my really long posts for MT. I have a pretty good list of topics I could start though. Just need the time....

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/Strike_Rouge_Mk2/img011.jpg

This guy has an alignment/perspective problem on his pelvis. I know an MS is supposed to be able to turn its pelvis like that, but it's rather unusual for lineart. I like this one's head and forearms.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/Strike_Rouge_Mk2/DONE.jpg

DAHH!! What do I keep telling all of you about tracing?! Vary the line thickness! For this one, keep an eye out for alignment of parts and symmetry. They're tough, seriously.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/Strike_Rouge_Mk2/img013.jpg

Possibly the most politically incorrect homework assignment I've ever seen??? (I'm being certified to teach, lol.) Are all of your drawings typically this size? Perhaps that's why some of your drawings seem to have disconnected lines.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/Strike_Rouge_Mk2/img017.jpg

I don't get to watch much anime anymore, but I guess I like moe anime, too. At least the art style. ...I think the only 'moe' anime I've seen so far is Haruhi, actually. I like her expression. Careful not to make the hands too small.

...son of a bitch...! :x  Ha, that's okay. I was inspired to start the project because of one of my friends on youtube. You'll see what I mean when it's all finished. =)

*scratches head* Just when did you get so good with the female figure? I guess you're either just a natural or you've had a lot of practice you haven't posted. (I still feel like such a noob in this area.) You did a great job of integrating the mechanical parts, too, I think. Mine just look tacked on there. -___-; I see some Miku influences. 00 Reborn's posture is very nice. And before Crash yells at you, their necks are too thin. =o And my usual gripe about small/thin hands.

You've got a lot of talent, StrikeR. It's nice to see everyone improve so fast. =)

god....you people are making me sick, actually finishing things while I'm suck in a rutt. gah. [insert long aggravated yet pouty expression]

Seraphic wrote:

I DON'T #&%*^#$@ YELL!! .... sillyness aside I wasn't even going to comment on the necks since there are other anatomical issues about I figured it was "the style." and assuming that my only real complain is the ussual "finish your lines." BUT for the sake of making sera right, the heads seem over sized probably due to the neck being on the thin side and the additional parts. The arms a slightly on the short end, possibly try drawing them to be half her hand-length longer but keep the same proportional thickness of the arm. and echoing sera, slightly enlarging the hands could produce greater results.

there...now back to my thunderously slow pace...I ZOINKS hate these depressing slups in creativity and will.

Oh.. Now that I look at it the necks do seem a bit thin.. I tried again so this one should be less uh skinny necked. lol.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... img020.jpg

I added myself in there for the hell of it. I thought it was funny.

Thanks for your comments Sera and Crash, I appreciate it! I'm not forgetting you guys who clicked my thread either! Views are cool too!

Btw, 00 Reborn Girl is now my Mascot :3

*EDIT* I almost forgot, Crash where the lines I forgot to complete? I can only see like one or two around the Sword/Rifle.

Thanks again :P

I'd say hair line but I realize that it's not a helmet XD. how big are these? I onlly ask because the way the bangs are handled looks like something that would be done with smaller images.

Quickly posting what I've done lately, took me half the time to scan, then another 1/4 of the time to do some minor cleaning. Uploading was surprisingly fast, but I'm now left with 2 minutes left at this computer.... so :/

A status update (yet again): My fams is switching from comcast to some other service atm, and internet is out for me. only really matters cause I was able to check up on the Mechatalk and all my other various things i know im going to get yelled at for (Guys at the TARRRPG, dont kill me!) from my PS3/PSP, but now I can't do that either :(

See you guys in.. er.. 3 days xD

okay this might take a while...

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... Mk2/15.png
I particularly like this one, it seems one of your strengths is drawing mecha in simple bust shots.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... img006.jpg
This guy has ...issues. the arms are drawn awkwardly. the left isn't in the same perspective despite it not looking like the shoulders are thrown back -which would give the arms a similar perspective angle as they currently have. the spacing between the shoulder and he torso seems to be exaggerated and not in a good way (I know that hard part about exaggerating things is knowing when you're doing it in a good way or a not-so-good makes-you-look-silly way)

the right arm 's shoulder is in a different perspective then the forearm despite the fact the joints are clearly not allowing it to happen. the arm itself is a little "too" straight and looks overall stiff and more like one big log then a appendage. also of note the entire perspective and positioning of the arm suggests that it's being slung forward (which combined with slung back left arm looks really awkward) when compared to the torso.

the easiest though asshole-ly way to put it is that in this one you totaly failed in handling the arms. but hey at least it me saying it and not an art professor grading the piece. XD

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... img008.jpg
It took me a little while to figure out what I was looking at. after that I imaged the character yelling "GP03 eat your heart out" or something to that effect. let me start by saying those are some really big thrusters. and it combined with the various other components makes me wonder where is thee room for the overly larger reactor to power it all. the problem with this design is it's too smashed together note how similar systems found in gundam have longer bodies and take that under consideration.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... img004.jpg
It's leaning forward in a not so good way...why are your mecha still going that? to remedy it in the front view move the right leg further from the left they don't look spaced out enough and it combined with the right side heavy gear leads to a leaning look for the unit. in the rear view...straighten it's posture it's obviously leaning forward.

now, onto the design elements. it's shoulders look overly big and bulky whiel not featuring any interesting detail and kinda seems to take away from mecha's design. I'd suggest lowering their top end significantly.
that torso mounted Gatling looks ridiculously and extremely tacked on. for one there's no real room for the gun itself, jsut the barrels sticking out and looking silly. if you're going to put a gun on the front of the mecha then I'd suggest mimicking the chest guns found on armored core designs, those don't look silly. the ones I'd suggest staying away from is heavyarms and these grunts from 00. heavy arms was a complete exercise in idiocy the chest guns must have taken up the majority of the upper torso cavity and given the fact the pilot was sitting in his cockpit mounted in the bottom of the ribcage that left very little room for any kind of system the mecha actually needed for general operations. and don't get me started on it's endless waltz version being agile as hell. the 00 grunt units (alf, anf, or something like that) looked more like they had a .50 call tacked onto their oddly designed torso it looked well silly.

I like the design of your arm mounted Gatling though it makes me wonder how many rounds you have stuffed in those little drums. my common suggestion would be to have the Gatling feed from a drum on the upper left back/shoulder or bum. (I said bum XD) the beam gun or what ever it is in the right hand looks less well designed. I'd suggest throwing it through some refining before equipping it to a mecha you bother to draw full bodied.

in the torso and legs I see some elements from your earlier design and I wounder if you're trying to make those parts seem to be identical to another one or if you just like those design elements.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... g010-1.jpg
please tell me this is your official mascot. because really she's damn cute and "animated" +10 if you pump out a finished product of her, let me color it (or color it yourself) and use the resulting image as your avatar.

http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww24 ... savage.png
lol everytime I saw these guys in FMP I thought a few things "what an unflattering design," "why do I think it looks like a frog?" and "is this one going to slide around on it's belly too?"

oops. I was drawing this one for some sort of lol effect, so I made it as random and forced as I could so thats why theres just crap everwhere xD I mean, if you look closely it has GN capacitors, a Feddie insignia, a shield from SEED, and HUGE vulcans on its head. But as usual I made that weird posture error again. :p Now that I think of it, it must be because when I start drawing the paper is at an angle but as I go on I correct it unknowingly whenever I erase or something.. I tend to draw when I'm lying down xP

But, I'm trying to get her an original outfit before I do anything else. Along with actually deciding the colors for her hair, eyes, and etc. I was thinking Silver/White hair..

Actually, I forgot how the original one looked like when I was drawing it and was just going off of memory.. I also realized that it had the flat belly too, but I thought it looked cooler without it.

Ah, this guy. This is one of those works that I was talking about, where I won't finish it because I (Realized I) messed up. And again, this mistake is owed to my habit of rotating the page as I draw. I actually wanted to stop at the chest in fear of messing it up, but I couldn't help myself.

Theres also something I scanned but the file was corrupted, so I'll edit this tommorow (Or Friday I think) with the missing picture. A hint is that he's a bit... two faced.

*wonders how he missed recognizing all those elements*

I find it incredibly hard to draw laying down, most of the time I have to be sitting up. I guess this is a result of where most of my drawing was done while I was developing. that is in school desks with the din of noise that is the teacher going on about things no one really cares about. I use to rotate the paper a lot while drawing because certian lines where easier to do from a different angle, when I really started getting myself working faster during sketching I sort of "grew out" of the habit.

I do something similar, I'll often just keep going even when I've noticed I've made a really big or stupid mistake just to see where it brings me. at the same time I tend to make note of it right there on the sketches which serves to remind me about these things when I go to post it online. some of my best -or at least ones I fell are my best- started with me making a grossly large mistake and just going with it.

Okay I lied, My friend is never home when I am so I asked around for someone with a scanner and my computer teacher said he "Might" be able to find one that isn't teacher use only.

Ok, So I managed to get a second hand scanner from a family member but Its well...crappy Its scans and all but it come out with shaded spots all over the pictures, and since this will be the only scanner I'll have access to I was wondering what type of software you guys use for cleaning up your art and how to do so. I've never used any type of that software before so I was looking for some advice. (Can even I do this in my own thread?)

How dare you complain about bad scanners man? :P My scanner is just about most of a decade old! It runs only with a junkyard-built computer with 16 bits tube display, 86-key keyboard, Windows 98 (the ONLY platform the darn scanner is compatible with) and the computer has NO INTERNET, NO MOUSE AND unable to use a flash drive so I'm stuck with ferrying floppie discs between two rooms, seriously cutting back on coffee time :(. I can't get updates for the scanner because the company that made it is bankrupt.

Anyway, nice job man. You're a pretty good hand artist. With GUNDAMs, no less, which I find rather insufferable because of an overdose of details. I usually go for wither humans or EVANGELION units. (Much easier, as they're a lot smoother and more details can be negated out of sheer laziness.) As for shady spots on my scans... I usually hand color (If at all) and feel as if the rubbed off coloring makes my drawings look better for some unknown reason (Maybe more authentically hand drawn? :?: ). But how DO you clean a hand drawn picture? The texture from the paper usually causes the PC to mess up thinking it was colored and erasing the texture bit by bit is, again, too much work. Not counting smears at the BAD places that don't make the picture look nicer.

Location: In the Zaku's cockpit. Yes, the one that just exploded.
I think this is a sensitivity problem, the scanner is in this case overly sensitive my own scanner had a similar problem -particularly if I didn't close the top when I scanned (in the later case it was actually picking up shadows on the page) you'll have to go into the scanners settings and play around as I'm not even sure what do dad I fiddled with (I think it was a process of elimination thing to be honest).
