Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
There's still some issues with that though. 1. If they need to capture it, infantry needs to be there with the MS, MS can't capture locations for the same reason tanks can't. It'd be much too easy for the remaining Federal Forces to destroy anything of value before Zeon infantry got there, which wou...

Re: Could Zeon have taken Jaburo without the White base?
If anything it actually may have been worse for Zeon than it already had been. The operation would be delayed, if it even happened since earth was no longer a priority considering most of their forces would be in space, which would have given the Federation more time to get the GMs ready for actual ...

Re: MS handgun caliber
I'd say that the MMP-80 working with Fed 90mm rounds is not true for one reason, the only 90mm round that would work in it is the one used by the RGM-79D's machine gun, the others (To be fair, this is solely based on magazine length.) seem to be more akin to a rifle round, while the RGM-79D and MMP-...

GM models in the Blue Destiny manga.
Okay, so I was reading the Blue Destiny manga again and when I saw the GM model than Yu's team was testing in the beginning, I simply thought it was their version of the basic GM, much like the one in IGLOO. Later on in the manga though, when Zeon attacks the base regular GM teams are deployed, and ...

Re: Help with 0083 at the end (spoiler alert)
yet the fed respond by creating EFSF and having Naval Review... instead of ever thinking about giving spacenoids their independence. Just pointing out that as was discussed in this topic , Zeon's Side 3 was already independent well before the war started, since 0058 in fact, and on top of that they...

Re: What makes a Gundam a Gundam?
Another thing is that sometimes in universe (UC only that I'm aware of.) a Mobile Suit is called a Gundam for no reason other than to make it easier to sell to the Federation, because the word Gundam means something to them even that late in the universe, and still has standing in Victory, I can't r...

Re: What makes a Gundam a Gundam?
Like in all the threads from before like this, the simple answer is, it has Gundam in the name. There isn't really a set standard in any universe, with the possible exception being CE (G has a standard of sorts as well, but I assume you didn't mean that series.), but then I don't know if any MP unit...

Re: One year war
It wasn't a bluff, Zeon's plan had been to pull their forces off earth and use the weapon, which would kill all plant life on earth and render the earth uninhabitable. Actually it wasn't even meant to be a weapon, I don't recall what it originally was but once they'd brought it out of the space colo...

Re: Random Mecha/Anime Image Thread, 9th Issue
This is why you use an Atlas, it's got the armor and weapons to stage a one-'Mech assault on the enemy line. Even losing an arm makes them look awesome! This is also why you use an Atlas. Rather impressive, but I dislike the lack of missiles being used. I don't think they covered this in training. ...

Re: On Old Technology Circumventing New Technology
Outside of squad automatics and crew-served weapons, automatic and burst fire isn't used all that often. It's typically controlled pairs, so semi-automatic isn't that much of a problem. But I don't know what a Pumpkin Scissors is. I never said semi-auto was a problem. :/ My issue was that it was cl...

Re: On Old Technology Circumventing New Technology
I really don't have a problem with this in most regards, smallarms technology has stagnated to the point where we put more emphasis on what we can stick on the gun than the actual gun itself. The M2 Browning is coming up on it's 100th year of service and the MG42 has been in use with the Germans si...

Re: On Old Technology Circumventing New Technology
Magazine/clip-fed bolt-action rifles aren't really much older than semi-automatic weapons. Nor did they ever fall out of use. Also, there *are* some insanely accurate semi-automatic rifles, which is why the U.S is going for an AR-15 pattern sniper rifle and, IIRC, semi-autos are becoming more commo...

I see what you mean now. Guess I was reading it wrong after all. Though CE could still be using purely fission based nuclear weapons, not sure they ever said what they used.

Re: Giant swords, are they feasible?
well we could argue that almost every attack that landed from the Mjolnir was either involving it's thruster firing, it's ms boosting, or hitting a target that was moving towards it. we could make this argument even if a few cases you couldn't be sure because of the attacker and attacked where rare...

Re: N-Jammers.
That was kinda my point, though I see that I said "would" rather then "wouldn't" in my last post which has been fixed. Was just saying that they shouldn't have fusion at all since N-Jammers don't work on that.

Re: Giant swords, are they feasible?
Honestly I agree with you about the Mjolnir, and I have no idea where that's from, but that's what's there so I don't know what to tell you. Also based on the end of the first episode of Seed (Or the start of the second.) the MS still do take some damage through PS armor, the Strike had dents and ma...

Re: N-Jammers.
...I'm not even sure what you're saying in the first paragraph there Command. the city of corpses doesn't seem to be a flashback, from what I can tell Seed's many flashbacks are generally denoted by muting the color slightly, in that scene however there's some very bright red so color's aren't bein...

Re: F***'n mono-eyes, how do they work?
I don't think it would have mattered even if the cockpit wasn't borked, we've seen that the gundam(G) has the majority of it's camera's in the head. As I recall most units even in the OYW had cameras off the head that allowed them to continue to fight. She wouldn't be as effective sure, but I'm sur...

Re: N-Jammers.
Well technically it should be a smaller explosion either way (Since they were in space.), but to me it seemed more to be used for effect, i.e. make the EA seem more evil by using more than one, plus more nukes means more purty lights. ZAFT would likely also be able to deal with one nuke, though I do...

Re: F***'n mono-eyes, how do they work?
Take Karen Joshua's Gundam in episode 10 of the 08th MS Team. When its head is blown off by the Acguy, she loses all monitors, and Michel has to set the Beam Rifle camera to display on her front monitor. Just want to point out that it was Eledore that guided her aim, AND that the reason her monitor...
