Re: FMP! fanbase poll

I have yet to venture into the novels or manga, but at least as far as the anime goes, I'm still a huge fan, and the series (as in, all three as a collective unit) still stands as a major favorite of mine to this day. The first series was an excellent blend of a lot of different genres (comedy, dram...

Re: The People vs George Lucas (SW fan documentary)

Now that a few years have gone by, I have to admit I do enjoy The Phantom Menace to some degree. It was a little over-long (the story of Anakin's childhood could've been condensed into the first third or so of a much better film), Jar-Jar was a really bad joke, the midichlorian thing and all the tim...

Re: Your Choice of a Gundam Sequel

On that note, I'd like to see something of the Earth Alliance beyond just the Atlantic Federation. We only ever see the Eurasian Federation when there's a need for Alliance personnel to be blown up in mass quantities (often to show just how evil the Atlantic Federation are by killing their own allie...

Re: Your Choice of a Gundam Sequel

I actually have two replies for this poll. The obvious one based on my username, and the one I voted for, is the Cosmic Era. There's a lot of untapped potential there, and as Astray & Stargazer have shown, in capable hands the timeline can really flourish and produce some fantastic stories and c...

Re: Operation Stardust

Oh, as someone mentioned Cima's backstory was explained outside of the series, what's the name of that source? There was a radio drama produced around the time 0083 came out called 'The Mayfly of Space,' which was then produced as a short OVA (like, less-than-ten-minutes short) right around the tim...

Re: Tomino and Sunrise's stance on Turn A's continuity?

What does that even mean? The general consensus tends to be that the connectivity of the various Gundam timelines only applies within the context of Turn-A and the Correct Century, and that within the context of other Gundam timelines and even the franchise as a whole, that's simply not canon. In s...

Re: Gundam Beast. New series?

Nostalgia Fiction Gundam: Beast is a fan work that is now well over a year old. I very highly doubt that there's an official anime in the works based on it, as such a thing would have had a big announcement by now and likely would've happened a while ago given Gundam: Beast's age.

Re: RIP Elisabeth Sladen

I read about this yesterday. It was one of those real gutpunch passings that just comes out of nowhere and leaves you kinda speechless, made doubly sad by the fact that I was just starting to get into some of the older Who and really enjoyed the episodes with Sladen as the Doctor's companion. R.I.P....

Theoretically fixed. Well that was (is?) slightly embarrassing.

Broken? It's working fine for me right now. Plus I thought Imageshack et al blocked that sort of thing as a part of their hotlink prevention.

Nothing fancy, just Rondo Mina Sahaku. Chillin' on her throne. Pulled the image from volume four (I think) of Destiny Astray, which was probably the only good thing to come out of Destiny short of Hawke sisters fanservice and the Saviour Gundam.

Re: Powering a CE MS

I've always interpreted it as primary energy weapon and defensive armor functions (phase shift, mirrage colloid) deactivated once that little battery gauge they always show had gone into the red, allowing that small amount of remaining battery to last long enough for the pilot to make it to safety. ...

Re: The Frost Brothers motivation

Didn't Rau try wiping out humanity because his dad never accepted him as his son? It was actually Mwu that was rejected by Al da Fllaga, with Rau being the clone created from Al to replace Mwu as heir to the family. As for Rau's motivations, he basically saw himself (as a clone) as being the pinnac...

Re: 4Kids Entertainment file for Bankruptcy

Their editing standards may have been dubious, but they were responsible for bringing an entire generation of new fans into the anime scene, and they at least deserve credit for that. Besides, considering how the previous generations were brought in by localizations that spliced three completely unr...

Re: Member Introduction Thread Mk. III

This...really isn't so much of an introduction as a re- introduction, I suppose. I used to post on here some time ago under the username "Nagi," but for various and sundry reasons (one of which being me accidentally breaking my account in a failed attempt to change my e-mail address), I ki...
