Re: My Ongoing Modeling Questions Thread

Unfortunately, I don't think there is. I can't think of a way to stop the chemical reaction that wouldn't also prevent the stuff from EVER hardening. I had to learn to kind of eyeball it and learn to use less than I needed. You can always make more, but you can't un-make wasted putty. Freezing it m...

Re: What makes combat choreography "good"?

I've given the subject a fair bit of thought - I want to do some mecha battle animations, and I want to make them good. I liked the battle sequences of 00 because they are very fluid and varied (I'm looking at you Seed battle footage). I liked the fact that even if the gundams overwhelmed everything...

They're really no more silly than the regular Wing Gundam's wings... They're just curved instead of flat slabs.

Re: Clay Bazooka?

I have to wonder if, given the properties of genuine Clay shot, someone has ever thought of using it to help in making hasty repairs to a breached spacecraft hull or colony wall. The hand-mounted birdlime launchers of the Rick Dias seemed pretty effective at dealing with small ruptures - it seems t...

Re: Clay Bazooka?

You also have to take into effect that the A.E.U.G is, I believe, classified as a militia and not officially part of the federation. ...And along those lines, maybe there's another angle to this thing: A fair bit of AEUG's MS design work had to be kept under wraps. Classifying the Clay Bazooka as s...

Re: Armored Core 5 announced.

Is anyone getting Armored Core V early? The Japanese version comes out next Thursday. I mentioned earlier that I am. Well, not "early" but I'm getting the Japanese release when it comes out. PS3 version. I love the AC series (the PS2 versions especially) and I never really got into AC4......

I've decided to take the plunge and get the game. I hope to have it by the end of the month. Japanese version, I'll just have to muddle through. :)

Re: Why the backlash against fanservice in anime in general?

There's another angle to the whole issue: basically, fanservice is a very cheap way of getting the audience's attention. I want to be clear about what it means when a facet of storytelling is "cheap". It does not mean that it's inherently bad. If it's fun or enjoyable, then it's not bad. J...

-Gelgoog J's Beam Spot Gun was always there, no recton But the accompanying caption says "A beam spot gun for close defense is in development, but it is currently not yet completed." How odd. Didn't the Jager actually use the beam spot gun in 0080? (Or maybe it was some other weapon mount...

Re: Ship's Bridges Being Target.

However, physics being what it is, there's no reason the Federation couldn't plink Zeon's colonies from Luna II, despite being on the far side of the Earthsphere. How is that supposed to work? Shooting down colonies when there's a planet and its moon in between you and the target...? One could use ...

Re: Aura Battler Dunbine Names?

Okay I'll keep that in mind, I figured it was just bad translation on ADV's part. But can you explain why Bern Bunnings gets pronounced as Burnings on Gundamn? Probably they, like me, watched the ADV translation (sub or dub) and got into the habit of using the translated names. It happens. I called...

Re: The Gundam Movies worth watching?

Love that movie.... then probably Endless Waltz just because Gundam Wing has a special place in my heart as a MSG fan... Endless Waltz is also notable because, IMO, it is on a technical level the best animation quality ever used in a Gundam production. (Of course what that really means is brief sce...

Slightly lower turning time, you mean. Or slightly faster . A higher turning time i...

Re: The People vs George Lucas (SW fan documentary)

I don't mind the prequels either, well aside from the obvious complaints. Episode II's only enjoyable parts are the last 10 minutes...it just took so much time to get up to cause he paced it so slow. I remember distinctively laughing really hard the first time i saw Yoda fight..nobody saw that comi...

Eh. Fyana was such a drag after a while, though. Space Type GM Command has beam gun with round magazines. So, unless in UC it is customary to carry wrong type of ammunition, flat magazines had to be cut from the shield. Nicely done. Did you have any trouble with the mod? I did this to a few GM Commands I was working on a few years back and I had ...

Yeah, I really don't understand the question... But if it helps any, the MG GM-C doesn't reuse any parts from the MG GM Quel. At the time of its introduction the MG GM-C was an all-new tooling (unlike the GM Quel, which reused parts from the GM Custom and Alex.) Maybe you could grab a photo from Dal...

It's a regional thing. A lot of of the Canadian modelers seem to favor "deckles".
