Inquiry on pre-ordering import games...
No surprise that the game I want to pre-order online is Gundam Extreme Versus (Japanese version to be on the safe side regarding DLC and online multiplayer). So far, only a few stores online offer GEV available for pre-order, most notably on YesAsia and Play-Asia . As I'm having second thoughts on p...

Re: Turn A Gundam,Ouroboros and Kali Youga
Well, when I brought up "any notion of humanity being 'more' or 'above' animals is crap" as one of the storytelling messages I got out of it, I mean that I think--even with Tomino getting out of his depression phase in that time--that he's quite depressed about the future, because again, i...

Re: Turn A Gundam,Ouroboros and Kali Youga
As I am not an expert on such, I will not go into it. I don't even know if the exact subject you bring up in detail is what came into Tomino's head. But regardless, the point you simply typed as "the world going in circles" is basically the point made in the final episodes of the anime, es...

Getting a Playstation Network account: is it a good idea?
I've recently got myself a Playstation 3, and am trying out the system. I had thoughts about getting a PSN account; likely one for when Gundam Extreme Vs. comes out just incase there will be DLC for it, but at least a state-side one. However, I understand there's been a whole fiasco about a network ...

Re: 6 Arcade Games to Awesome for a Western Release
Personally (and no offense intended), I hope in retrospect that you would've gone normally and not make an exception, since that website in general isn't to my taste, and while others may like it, I'll still nevertheless not recommend it and spoil the unnecessarily-two-webpages-long article that's m...

Re: It will come: the US trailer to Turn-A Gundam arrives
I said "neither negative or positive" regarding the *look/vibe* of Turn-A Gundam. I am merely reminded in an *aesthetic sense* of Char's Counterattack or Victory Gundam from the tiny sample of what I've seen much more so than G-Gundam, Gundam Wing, or Gundam X--though there are visual tec...

Re: It will come: the US trailer to Turn-A Gundam arrives
I haven't seen Turn-A, only screenshots and a few odd battle clips over the years. [...] But two things catch me off guard. The first--and this is neither negative or positive to me--is that it surprises me it was made in 1999, when its coloring, design, and art direction look circa '89-'93. Kind o...

Re: Gundam Extreme Vs coming on PS3
No I don't mean taste, I'm essentially talking about that engine the game runs on( I think I should have said this instead of gameplay). I should start off by mentioning this is foremost an arcade game and arcade games have been superseded by home consoles; thus to an extent outdating arcade games....

Re: Gundam Extreme Vs coming on PS3
I personally don't understand how you came to the conclusion that the gameplay is "outdated". Do you mean you prefer the gameplay of the ACE series to the others for this or that reason? Because it's more of a taste issue than a question of how "dated" it is. Despite the innovati...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
When I last posted over at A&M's own AGE thread, I didn't check to see if there was one about the mecha aspect of AGE here, and posted my reactions to it over there. For what it's worth, here it is, copied and pasted: When I first read the news on Gundam AGE on Gundam Guy's blog, I didn't comple...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1
But unless the specific appliance of two cents within a post (or two, or more) tramples upon MT's rules, or that the rules are changed to no longer allow it, I don't think it means disagreeable or vocal opinions shouldn't be allowed. I understand what you're saying, but just because a person has an...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1
Wait... What's going on here? This seems all wrong... I don't remember stepping into the TARDIS. And yet... Have I just traveled through time and space? It seems I've set foot onto a Star Trek forum around two years ago. I may have iffy thoughts about the concepts, but I join with the side who reali...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors X
Replaced with the Glory of the Defeated logo which makes much more sense. A Frozen Teardrop logo probably wasn't supposed to be there to begin with, seeing how the machine could only show up in flashback if at all. I don't mean to annoy when I'm in nitpicker mode, but the GotD logo was always on th...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors X
1 , 2 . I also find it interesting that in the first of those two images, the Gundam is holding its shield "correctly" opposed to in the signature upside-down style that The Origin originally portrayed (and stood out quite a bit). Perhaps it's still "upside-down" in terms of the...

Turn A: Inquiring of MS quirks and sizes.
Now, from what's known, mobile suits like the Mahiroo can optionally use a Mobile Trace system to operate the MS. There are times when I see something like that--or a Psycommu system (operable by non-Newtypes) --in operation throughout the anime in a couple of other mobile suits. --In episode 8, whe...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors X
Very impressed by MG Epyon. Definitely a must get. Interesting to see it has both labels for EW:GOTD and Frozen Teardrop...so i guess that means Epyon II is an exact replica with no changes in FT?? -__- I've web-searched for other FT-related discussions like [ this one ] , and if the information us...

Re: Gundam X: the one AU series that is loved by all the fan
I don't mean to go off-topic too far here, so I'll stuff my TAG-related comments in spoiler tags. ...When I read that bit about Turn A, especially about the characters, it was an eye-rolling moment myself. Immediately, I wouldn't take such naysayers too seriously in an era where anyone watching too ...

Re: Favorite Damashii Figures
I just have one RD figure, so basically my first and only is my favorite, by default. Yeah, technically, I have two, but the other is a limited edition of the same figure and I'd rather not open it up, so I don't count it. But regardless, I like my RD Turn A Gundam better than my EMSiA; good design ...

Re: (Extended) MSiA concerns regarding legs and skirt armor.
The engineering in that area is basically the same. I feared the answer would be that, even if there's something a little different in EMSiA engineering (regarding the torso and waist) that might open up the skirt armor for a bit of movement and therefore not warp as quickly. I guess the only soluti...

(Extended) MSiA concerns regarding legs and skirt armor.
The concerns I have regarding MSiA (specifically but not only the Extended series) is regarding posing the legs of the figures. When I rehashed out a few old ones a couple of years back, I discovered a problem with the skirt armor of my Ground Gundam (which I never payed attention to many years befo...
