Re: Why no artillery in Gundam?
There's also the Xamel. It's probably the closest you'll get to artillery in Gundam besides the Guntank.

Re: Why don't "Real Robots" Have Skins Like Us?
Sure mechs don't have skin like we do, but it would be very weird if they did. Human skin is great at protecting the organs and such, but it doesn't fare well against bullets. Even giving mechs large versions of bulletproof vest like you describe would not by applicable, as the weapons that would be...

Re: Gleipnir-class Flying Fortresses
After seeing my friend face off against the Gleipnir a few years back, I decided to use the idea in my fictional army. Like Duraham, I decided that such a big platform would be better used as a high-altitude mobile base instead of a stealth bomber. My craft (designated the Daedalus-class) was insert...

Gleipnir-class Flying Fortresses
I don't know if you guys have played Ace Combat X, but the Gleipnir is one of the final bosses of the game. Gleipnir It's a flying fortress with an active-camo coating. While it's weapons are kinda out-there, the concept is the real thing I wanted to talk about. Looking at the Ace Combat Wiki , its ...

Re: Gundam/Misc. Mecha Image Request Thread V.5
I'm looking for a particular screencap from 08th ms team. It's of a zaku jumping out from forest cover wielding a heat hawk. Anyone have it?
Edit: Found the pic, but I need a better quality one for the t-shirt I'm designing.

They were have to be armored enough already for re-entry, right?

Re: Real World VTOL Dropships compared to Modern Day Helis
Thank you for your posts guys. Question answered, so I guess you guys can go back to discussing the Pelican if you want. I'll drop by tomorrow and often up my two cents...maybe.

Re: Real World VTOL Dropships compared to Modern Day Helis
Geoxile has it correct. I merely gave the Pelican and Alien dropship as examples. Same with the Harrier and JSF, which were only meant to be used as examples to aircraft that use VTOL technology. The best example I have for what I'm trying to ask would be the VTOL transport and gunship from Battlefi...

Re: Real World VTOL Dropships compared to Modern Day Helis
Well, I was just using the Harrier and JSF as example of VTOL technology. My main question was if turbine VTOLs are feasible, mainly in a dropship or gunship role? For example, could we see soldiers being carried into battle in Pelicans and supported by turbine-VTOL gunships instead of rotor-aircraf...

Real World VTOL Dropships compared to Modern Day Helis
I know everyone has seen dropships like the Pelican from Halo and the dropship from Aliens. I know there are several craft that use VTOL technology such as the Harrier and the JSF , but VTOLs like the Pelican feasible? Also, if feasible, do these craft have the possibility to phase out rotored VTOL ...

My humble apologies, but does anyone know where I can find the third episode of MS IGLOO 2 subbed?
Edit:After some diligent searching, I have found the sought after file. Again, forgive my intrusion.

Re: District 9
I greatly enjoyed District 9, and it's currently my favorite movie of the year. I'll admit, the story was a little slow at first, but once it got going, it was a juggernaut of great action, good acting, and good storytelling. The one I liked was how it used different camera-angles and styles. It man...

I'm excited about it. I really hope its good. The viral marketing is genius, it peaks the curiosity without jamming the trailers down your throat.
It looks fantastic and I hope it doesn't disappoint. Opening night anyone?

Re: Gosyusho Sama Ninomiya Kun and other Feel Good Animes
Don't make me choose between Gosyusho Sama Ninomiya Kun and They are My Noble Masters...it's like choosing which of my dogs I love more. I don't really remember TAMNM clearly, but I'll watch it soon. Then, maybe, I'l be able to form an opinion... I guess the main thing that I love about these two is...

Gosyusho Sama Ninomiya Kun and other Feel Good Animes
I honestly don't know why these animes appeal to me so much, when I'm such an avid Shounen guy (One Piece, Bleach, Naruto) but I love them. Even though I've seen them several times, I am currently re-watching Gosyusho Sama Ninomiya Kun and They Are My Noble Masters. I don't know if I'm the only one ...

Re: Games You Could See With an Anime Adaptation
I'm glad this thread took off. It was kinda touch and go for a second...
I could see an animated short of Killzone. Not based on the games but little side stories. I don't mean to be a self promoter but my Killzone short stories would make great animated shorts.

I don't plan on doing anything of the kind. I'd like people to actually discuss what games could work with an anime adaptation.

Games You Could See With an Anime Adaptation
After seeing the trailer for the Halo Animated series it got my thinking what other games I could see with an anime adaptation. One I could see is Kingdom Hearts. It's basically an anime already, but I would love to see anime version of the Disney characters, especially Micky in his Nobody outfit. A...

Re: Halo Anime (animated shorts)
I saw the trailer and loved it. The thing Master Chief was in riding in space looked a little like the METEOR or the Dendrobium Orchis.
Just another off-topic thought. Has anyone seen the youtube video Haloid?

Re: Valkyria Chronicles *spoilers*
Well think about the Gallian Regular army, where rank is determined by heritage and class. I think bringing his own tank made Welkin overqualified for a promotion lol.
