I've already reasoned away with any of the technobabble by believing it works similar to the Holosseum in Custom Robo
Which is more or less what this looks like anyway

Re: Gundam BF
I'd be interested to see some sources for this info. I haven't heard of Frozen Teardrop ever leading to a new series; but if this was stated as a possibility, I would love to read about it. Sumizawa supposedly said in an interview that Frozen Teardrop isn't a true sequel to Endless Waltz but rather...

Man, only now am I noticing that Crossbone's character art looks like something straight out of those awful "How to Draw Manga" paperbacks.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VI
I think part of it was that the original version with Loni's dad was thought to be too controversial, especially since the episode would come out close to 9/11. And there's the problem with that line of logic. Wing and 00 have had us rooting for Gundam-wielding terrorists for years now, and 00's ma...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk V
I thought Madi Garvey's hated of the federation was due to the fact they destroyed his country and its culture when the federation was bringing all of the earth's nations into its fold. This sounds way more plausible. And with the adoption of the Universal Century calendar in place of Anno Domini, ...

Re: Avril Lavigne's One Piece Themes
I saw it a while ago, when I saw the news of the Catalyst and the Linkin Park themed GP01. It was pretty neat.Arsarcana wrote:Linkin Park being fairly obvious Gundam fans well before then of course. Check out the music video of Somewhere I Belong, it is not subtle.

Re: Avril Lavigne's One Piece Themes
Linkin Park's The Catalyst was used for Gundam Extreme Versus and was used to pretty good effect.
I don't really take issue with this, although the lyrics somewhat suit the theme of One Piece, it seems like an odd song to use.

Something like that would most likely be an OVA. Even more likely a manga.

Re: Katoki and his influence?
I like long legs on both women and Gundams. In fact, Long legs are generally considered an attractive trait; I don't see why that can't apply to mecha as well. /m/'s just full of angry little midgets. Here's a good example. Those legs just seem absurdly long. I like Katoki's work as well, but his u...

Howbout a series that acts partly as a satire of traditional Gundam tropes while using them to much better and less derivative ends

Re: The Official Gundam: The Origin Anime Thread Mk I
Since there's no big news to expect for a while, there's no reason to keep it as such. Seeing as the only big announcement has been that it's going to be animated, sooner or later.

Re: Glory of Losers
I like them. The only one I think was kinda dumb was Deathscythe's. Otherwise, everyone else's seems well in their elements. Sandrock was slated to be the most heavily armored Gundam, so its Armadillo Armor is a welcome addition. And Heavyarms Igel is just beautiful. I'm passive about Shenlong's Lia...

Re: The Official Gundam Wing Thread
I still enjoy it - I feel it's one of the better AUs that's come out of the franchise, derpy dialogue aside. I just wish the Wing Gundam was given better screentime. In was incredibly underwhelming to see every time it showed up, and when it wasn't being used, it was under water. I really wish it ha...
