Re: The Official Identify this Show Thread

i was watching a unit size comparison video on youtube, near the end it showed the Xi Gundam in animated form.(judging from the color, its from the 90s.) is this like a split second cameo in a series or was the Hathaway's flash novel animated in some small form back then? If you could provide a lin...

Re: Macross poised to finally see international release?

I wouldn't purchase anything for Harmony Gold anyway, but who buys "DVDs" or Standard Definition anymore? I don't spend my cash on anything that isn't at least 1080P HD Blu-Ray quality from a high definition scan source. And most of what I buy now is digital, no disc. I'm amazed there are...

Re: If anyone wondered if Kagatie had any relation to Dogati

In Crossbone they just showed that Dogatie gave his infant bastard son Kizo to Kagatie so he could raise him. Wait uh... I haven't read Crossbone or seen V in years, so forgive me if I missed something, but what does that mean regarding their connection? Is it implied that their last names being si...

Re: Making Sense of the Battle of Loum

An omake from 08th Platoon covered Char Aznable's feat of arms at Loum. I can't reference it right now, as my subbed VHS tapes are in storage, and the US DVD release didn't have the omakes. It emphasized his agile attack tactics, bounding from ship to ship at sharp angles of attack, with all five s...

Re: Geneshaft

Can you elaborate on the plot? Well, you could say it is a future where ZAFT won the war and everybody are now Coordinators. Genetically-enhanced, grow in tubes, the whole shtick. Suddenly, mysterious ring-shaped objects appear outside the Earth orbit! It's up to the crew of the Bilkis to find out ...

Geneshaft

Brought this up on /m/ a couple of weeks ago but didn't get much of a response (well, to be more accurate I did get the typical /m/ responses - "whew, that's a LEWD bodysuit!") Anyway, Geneshaft . A somewhat obscure mecha show - look it up if you haven't seen it. It's... surprisingly good....

Re: Five Star Stories - New Arc

I haven't read all of FSS yet, but I'm excited to see it come back and hopefully get finished this time. Me too, some of it are pretty elusive especially the translated one. While we're at it, I wonder why there isn't any news about Gothicmade. it should be released last year but I couldn't find an...

Re: Neo Ranga

FINALLY, someone made a topic on my favorite non-mecha anime series. It pretty much is a mecha show lol. It's an organic monster, sure, but the Shimabara girls control him no differently than, say, Tetsujin 28 or Giant Robo. Especially in the second season where the fights get real intense. How doe...

Neo Ranga

First off I'll start by saying this is an amazing show. Just finished watching it and I have to say it blew my mind. In case you haven't seen it, this show's got everything - from excellent drama (which is the force behind most of the episodes) to monster vs. monster action, from commentary on moder...

Re: Victory Gundam: Details on the War

. As for where the Zanscare invaded on earth... I believe Kasserelia and the surrounding regions were all supposed to be in Europe. Yeah, IIRC Woowig is modern day Prague. Yep, one of the episodes has a map that shows that Woowig/Kasarelia corresponds exactly to Prague. Largaine is another location...

Layzner questions...

Just finished watching the OVA compilation episodes of SPT Layzner. In case you haven't seen it - highly-recommended stuff! Very reminiscent of other 80s Takahashi shows such as Galient and VOTOMs, so if you liked those, check this out. Keep in mind that the first OVA covers 24 episodes in 55 minute...

Oh man, so many cool stuff to see this season! Mostly excited about From the New World which seems amazing form the previews. I'll probably give Zetsuan no Tempest,Btooom!, K, JoJo and Psycho-Pass a chance too. Robotics;Notes doesn't seem as exciting as its predecessors, unfortunately...

Re: Mecha Anime Collecting Project

Here ya go , I use the Japanese wiki page on "Robots in Anime" regularly to find obscure mecha series. It has all of them, categorized by type and years. If you're not sure how to read the titles, just click on a series and view the English wiki page to see which one it is. This pic by a ...

Sorry to double post, but here's an unknown ship! http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/584/unknownship.png It looks like a Pegasus class ship and there is a possible name (in pic), but after looking through the Pegasus ships on the main site nothing matches. BTW this is from Sunrise Heroes R. Yeah, t...

Re: Brain Powerd, is it worth it ?

It has some hilariously bad moments (particularly if you watch the dubbed version), sure, but there are some genuinely good episodes towards the end. Unfortunately it suffers from inconsistency and total lack of focus (it jumps from one scene/character to another without any warning) , and the endin...

Re: UC 0079 Print Chronology Project, part 2

In particular, "The Gundam Chronicles Ver.2" features a huge One Year War timeline, compiled by Aiyuki Okazaki of "Data Gundam" fame, and unlike Okazaki's Data Gundam articles it actually provides source information for each listing. Some kind soul has even transcribed the whole...

Nah, just a reprint of the Equal Genesis manga that was released in the early 90s. Nothing new here.
