I think the helmet communication works like the real-life walkie talkie, where you can set a pre-defined channel for communication.

What I find the battle exciting, are all those missiles that blazed on the battlefield, I just loved those Tau GN missiles.

((Let me go back in time a few hours, this concerns about a sub-plot that bugs me.)) - Pericles - Soon after the briefing, most MS pilots went on to their tasks assigned. However, Erwin is still standing near the doorside of the briefing room, one thing on the last battle still bugs him very much. &...

The point of Celestial Being's uniforms is to symbolize their unity. I think by not having Saji or Soma wear the CB uniforms shows that while they may be cooperating, they still aren't formally part of the organization. As for the colours of the female uniforms, they're allowed to decide on whateve...

Regarding to the sensor's limit and accuracy problem, I think a missile weapon in space will not be hindered by it too much. Let's assume at a techology level that we can conduct space warfare, we should be able to produce state-of-art miniturized (Or nano?) computer systems, which are cost-effecien...

If the battle took place in a planetary system, they can plot coordinates relative to the ecliptic of nearby star or planet, or in deep space relative to the fleet's own ecliptic plane. Space battles could range for hundreds or even thousands of miles though it the battlefield would probably be con...

Combat in Space: Positioning and maximum distance?

In many Space Opera animes, battles often take place in space areas, two problems bugged me, how do they identify their directions and locations, as well as how large the battlefield could be? Unlike terrestial warfare, space is a 3-dimension environment, and there's no absoulte directions as north ...

I just watched the "Voices of a Distant Star". It was pretty good, though bittersweet sci-fi love stories aren't something new, but Makoto Shinkai executed the story quite well, and is quite touching. The mecha designs somewhat similar to Labours in Patlabours. Anyway, it's an anime that's...

Perhaps the 100mm machine gun is only for short-to-mid range fighting, an enhanced optics aren't needed.

That could be most possible, as the pilot will need to know how many ammo and where the weapon is aiming at. The plug from the weapon will feed those information. But if it's not connected by physical means, maybe there's some sort of wireless means to connect the weapon and MS? Though I think the p...
