Re: How much of Gundam was changed in planning?
Initially, the idea doesn't exist. To say there's some particular point that's crossed in an idea's conception that suddenly locks it down to "this is the story" and that changes beyond that don't count is a little silly I think. The best writers are the ones that can adapt to changing cir...

Re: The little Evangelion 3.33 thread
The confusion probably comes from the original NewType article, which said there would be 4 films, but that #3 and #4 would play combined, like a double feature.

Re: Evangelion 3.0 New Trailer!!!
Pretty sure that release date was just made up. The official site hasn't announced a firm date yet. Despite that video claiming official, it isn't. It's just the preview from the end of the 2.0 movie combined with the TV version.

Original Gundam English Re-Release next year
I had read that the original Gundam will be re-released in a box-set next year (if I missed this discussion elsewhere in the forums I apologize.) If this is true, I am very excited:

Anno resigned from Gainax in October 2007 according to his official English biography:

If it didn't affect the second movie, I doubt it would affect the later ones.

This: If you don't want to sell anything to Americans, then you have nothing to worry about, and that seems to be the road Bandai's chosen with Gundam , since they don't need to sell anything to Americans anyways. is what I was originally commenting on. Bandai didn't choose this route, or Best Buy w...

I said not one word about financial success; was just saying that the American market wasn't being completely ignored.

Re: Rebuild of First Gundam
No I am not referring to Little Tokyo (which there is less Gundam product lately, since the manga store on 2nd street went out of business and the toy store on the Plaza is gone as well; Chinatown has a store with a bigger Gundam selection). However, in the message above, I was talking about main-st...

Re: Rebuild of First Gundam
Bandai sells plenty of Gundam products here in Los Angeles, which is perhaps not representative of the rest of the country, but there isn't zero presence; I've only imported one model kit and bought the rest locally, and I just saw a large number of Gundam 00 DVDs for sale at Best Buy, so Bandai is ...

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Cancellation
I don't know the source of this, but I have this in my notes: The rating of the first run averaged about a 4. The reruns averaged closer to 15 (and even 20 in some markets). So there was a large jump in viewership after it was canceled.

Re: unofficial zz gundam discussion thread
I didn't say there were *no* altruistic reasons, just that it wasn't *entirely* altruistic. Anaheim had their own motives which is all I was getting at. I wasn't suggesting that the crew of the Argama weren't just in their cause or something, just that the AEUG came about for more than one reason.

Well the AEUG was funded by Anaheim so it's not like it came about for entirely altruistic reasons.

Re: Recent Gundam Wing interview (translation?)
Yeah, but he didn't do anything between Wing and Inuyasha. That's about 4 1/2 years. So that could have been semi-retirement already. Perhaps what I meant to have written down was that he retired from Gundam.
