Re: N-Jammers.
Slight necro here, sorry if it bothers anyone. Cosmic Era might have fusion... it could just be similar in status to how fission is used today. Small percentage of the civilian power grid and military applications only. Combined with being too big to fit on a Mobile Suit/Mobile Armour and it would f...

Re: Variable fighter hardpoints
I have seen model images of the VF-4 which also had hard-ports in between the engines as well as outboard of them.
I think this is it... and yes its from a FanRPG site. Doesn't discount the image of the model.
Just putting that out there.

Re: More on Post-One Year War MS
Maybe it could be said that the Federation engineers decided to (to quote George Carlin) "dial one number higher" in order to distinguish the finalized GM Cannon from the earlier models? Not a bad theory. Perhaps this would be the beginning of a more marketing-based approach to the model ...

Re: Beam Weapons for Early CE Machines
Depends on engine.
But from memory an Ion Engine is rather proportional... as is Fusion based engine. (Fusion Torches essentially)

Re: Beam Weapons for Early CE Machines
As for fuel... it is likely they are using some sort of electric + fuel power source.
Power goes in... excites the reaction mass which is then ejected out the back creating thrust.
More power = more thrust per amount of reaction mass.

Me I agree that a neural link makes sense.. but combine it Battletech style with controls as well. Hybrid of the two.

Re: Curious question on the Strike Gundam/Rouge Striker packs
Yes.. But we are extrapolating from that and wondering if they would even have any to load onto the Archangel to begin with.
Answer: Probably doubtful on the Launcher Striker, The Sword was nigh-useless to begin with and not loaded/not needed.

Re: Colonies - Population
Yes. I would also prefer More Colonies per Side.
It makes more sense with less headscratching.
Also... the 250,000 Per PLANT kinda leaves you with a really amusing figure. The PLANTs only have a population of roughly... 30 Million?

Re: Colonies - Population
I am going to go with a lower end of the scale for Heliopolis. Three million. It looked rather more sparsely populated and alot of it looked given over to Industrial Capacity.

Any idea what the average population size for a colony is?
On another note... a guess as to the population size of Heliopolis?

Re: Pink Colored Mechs
Reminds me of the BattleCorps Mercs in Battletech... they painted a Demolisher Tank Pink.
If any of you don't play Battletech... the Demolisher Tank is the tank Mech Pilots fear.

What kind of mecha are capable of such feats in Macross? I've only just started watching the original show, so I dont know a whole lot about how their stuff works yet. Pretty much anything after SDF in the series timeline can be equipped with Fold Boosters that allow them to travel across vast segm...

I would probably say 9. 9 being the largest number ever sighted aboard an Archangel-class. Probably 4 on Each Side of the Hanger (4 Port and 4 Starboard) and 1 at the aft section of the hanger. You could probably cram a few more aboard but good luck launching them. Now... As for Mobile Armour capaci...
