Re: End of the line for Bandai Entertainment

Thing is, it really doesn't take much effort to play an imported DVD. There might be quality factors I'm not aware of but I've long been importing the BEI discs and playing them on a UK sold DVD player set to be region free. So in many ways the argument still stands- why can a country like Italy se...

Re: End of the line for Bandai Entertainment

That market uses PAL TV and an different dvd region code. Japan is NSTC like the us so they can back import us dvds and play them on there tv's. Ahhh, OK - that explains it. And I guess Beez deals with Bandai America in order to get the English dub, so only gets their releases. Hopefully now Beez i...

Re: End of the line for Bandai Entertainment

I really don't understand why Bandai (JPN) are so awkward with their releases through Bandai Ent (USA) and Beez. I understand the argument that they don't want Japanese fans importing cheaper box sets from international markets. Look at Italian Gundam releases as an example. These are essentially ex...

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Live action

I'm surprised that with all this talk about romance, Lalah isn't being mentioned. That is surely the true romance of MSG, and the spark that lit Amuro and Char's rivalry throughout Zeta/CCA? It is also closely linked to Amuro's newtype potential and so focusing on this would not only provide a tragi...

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Live action

Saying that Gundam could never be adapted into a film for Western audiences is just not true. I actually think it could be reasonably easy if the spot-for-spot events of the original series are downplayed in favour of character development. For the first film, it could start in an identical way, and...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1

I had some more thoughts I thought I'd share. One big relieve for me is how few characters there seem to be in this show. We have what seems to essentially be the crew of a ship and 2 main mobile suit pilots. I really enjoyed 00, but felt that so many characters were included that many of them were ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1

Enjoyed the video and synopsis. I really think this series will rise or fall on the basis of two of what I consider to be its key elements. 1. The synopsis seems to confirm that these enemies are 'aliens'. The suits have a very Evangelion vibe to me. Gundam is a show that has been defined by having ...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1

To be honest, I don't mind the style of these images, and think the story sounds good. I'm not heavily invested in Gundam like I was when I was younger. Over 10 years have passed since I first followed Gundam, and now I just buy the DVDs of whatever gets released and enjoy them for what they are. To...

The GN drive doesn't seem to be there, or at least isn't prominant, and they have a more mass produced (read: less individualised) design. This leads me to guess that they will be suits belonging to Grahams team of gundam-busters (he does have 2 in his team right?) This is just a guess i admit, but ...

Anyone know a good online store in the UK (preferably one that actually ships within the UK) that is likely to sell the Gundam 00 HCM Pros? www.gundammad.co.uk seem to skimp on hcm pros all together, while www.mech-a.com has no listings, and usually has pre orders well in advance so they should have...

Its certainly too early to judge, but surely most can agree that the first ep is at least promising. Only real criticisms i've heard is that too much is crammed into one eposode. I think this is unfair, compare it to other gundam openings and its fairly typical pasing wise, as not many shows have ha...

They released a UK edition which featured georgeous packeging (a metal tin houses a fold out carboard packeging with great glossy images as well as a massive and very detailed booklet with loads of info) as well as all the extras of the platinum editions. It was reasonably cheap (i got it from amazo...

God that looks so awesome! Its £100+ on UK sites though (p+p from abroad is a no go for this item!) and after buying strike PG with skygarasper last week i can't afford this. Then again, the last metal fix was only £45 on united publications so i can just wait and pray!

Victory Gundam merchandise

Gundam Fix metal Psycho Gundam

Was looking on a UK order site and the details of the psycho gundam said that its 12 inches tall. Not sure if this is a typo, but does anyone know the details? I was kinda hoping that this would be in scale with the normal gundam fix series so you could do a mk 2 scene, but if its 12 inches it would...

Interesting find

Was very surprised to pick up an extended MSIA Chars Gelgoog from my local (i live in the UK) Forbidden planet. Gundam stuff is very rare to find in these stores and is usually lame merchandise at sky high prices. This was only £9.99, which was a damn good price, but what was most interesting was a...

Even though the release doesn't have subs, and japanese releases rarely do, i do think this was a valid question because Bandai did say in an interview recently that they were planning to release HD/Blu Ray dvds with subtitles from the start as they are multi region compatible. I'm still hoping this...

Cospa Shirts available through any US/UK retailers?

Hey, just checking out the copsa website and NEED the shirt with the random chick versions of the gundam cast! Anyone know any uk/us retailers who sell these? I remember free ship toy republic (motion cruise, a great store for US residents as i believe its free postage) had some old ones, and i rand...
