Re: Gundam Wing: No Mobile Amours?
For Wing specifically, an argument could be made that the Mobile Doll system as a whole takes the role usually associated with the Mobile Armour; that the Mobile Doll system collectively counts as a sort of distributed Mobile armour in effect.

Re: Blast Impulse Goof - salvageable?
Or else he could go 'Perfect Strike' and splice the Force and Blast Silhouettes together somehow to get them to fit. The Force has those jointed Wing Connectors that could probably support the Blast Cannons instead
And Blast Force sounds perfectly appropriate for a custom Silhouette.

Re: question regarding rau le creuset piloting a MS
Also, Rau had the advantage of Time to Learn; something in short supply once the War started in Earnest, but it could simply be that Rau took longer in training - but he had the time to do that training -to get to where he was.

Re: Late UC Reactors: switch to He3-He3?
The He3-He3 reaction would have heavier reactants (6.03 mass units versus 5.03 mass units), and it produces barely 2/3 as much energy per reaction, so this seems like it would be inferior in terms of fuel efficiency. I've seen some Japanese publications claiming that, from F91 onwards, the fuel use...

Late UC Reactors: switch to He3-He3?
Had an odd idea and wondering about since re-reading Crossbone. During he Late UC period, there are noticeable changes to Mobile suit technology, and to technology in general (though we obviously see the Mobile suits more). The change appears to happen in the run-up to F91, and several effects are n...

Re: What is the final word on Cosmic Era beam technology?
Actually, if the Impulse's Shield does use Geschmeidig Panzer technology, that could be something of a plot hole, since use of Mirage Colloid Technology (including Geschmeidig Panzer) is supposed to be banned by the Junius Treaty. however, that could lead to a bit of fridge logic: That could be why ...

Re: Boeing patents a fusion reaction based jet engine
Actually, by the sound of it, the Uranium jacket is there purely to soak up the neutron radiation produced by the D-T fusion reaction; it's only using Depleted Uranium because U238 is damned good as radiation shielding against neutrons because it captures them; it's also good against other forms of ...

Re: Antarctic Treaty technicalities
As far as referencing the Antarctic Treaty goes, it gets pulled out way later in UC0123 during the events of Crossbone : When Crux Dogatie's extermination fleet shows up and starts lobbing Nuclear missiles, one of the Federation Brass gets Dogatie on Comm and yells that using Nuclear weapons should ...

Re: My Ongoing Modeling Questions Thread
Speaking personally, My reason for using Black Primer is due to bad experience with colour leeching when using white- when I used white over a red palstic, it bled the red out and turned an ugly pink. Since then, I've always used a Black primer, and gone over that with white if I need a light underc...

Re: Gundam SEED-ZAFT Gundams
It's explained in Destiny Astray: The basis for the Impulse is the idea that due to the Junius Treaty, ZAFT would have a limit on how many Mobile suits it could field and how many weapons each could have (so would the Earth Alliance) So, to get around that as much as possible while still appearing t...

Re: I-Field Beam Drive System
Basically, think of the Turn-A's body as being like a Marionette: instead of wires or rods, though, the shape of the external I-field is used to provide force against the limbs The External I-Field hugs the hull like an exoskeleton on an insect; When you issue the command to move, say, a leg, the I-...

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II
Actually, even the Shadow Mirrors aren't truly malicious, per se; like Bian, they believe that conflict is a means of strengthening Humanity, and Daitetsu even acknowledges it to be true, though he questions the cost/reward ratio. the difference is actually in Degree: Bian believed one short, intens...

Re: Questions about beam launchers/beam bazookas.
It could be increased Beam power demands by the weapons, but also consider that as Early as F91 and almost constantly after most general Mobile suits will also be funneling a hefty chuink of their Reactor's Minovsky Particle output to feed their Beams shields; it may be that Weapon recharge is prior...

Re: Zero's Twin Buster Rifle's capabilities?
I just had an idea... What if (and this is purely hypothetical; bear with me) Wing Zero used the MS' own cooling system to cool off the TBR between shots? It might not be entirely practical, channelling that much waste heat through the hand (or hands) to be radiated out from the MS' main body, but ...

Re: New SRW OG anime
Could be either; However, the Huckebein 2m's were rolled out in the same colour scheme for mass deployment both in game in OG2 and in the OVA, so it could be a new grunt standard. Alternatively...The Shadow Mirrors will presumably at some point, be deploying their own Gespenst MkII's, of which they ...

Re: Nuclear reactors exploding in shows?
There's also the issue that besides the magic particles (actually a side effect of Fusion rather than assisting with it, though they are responsible for the technology to miniaturise Fusion Reactors), UC also had to Import massive quantities of Helium-3 to run Fusion Reactors, From Jupiter. Cosmic E...

Re: Nuclear reactors exploding in shows?
The UC reactors are reliant on handwavium, and the reactor explosions caused by beam weapons hits are explained as being handwavium interactions between the beam handwavium particles and the reactor handwavium containment field, so it's pretty much arbitrary due to the handwavium content. The CE exa...

Re: MS thermodynamics and cooling
Except That isn't the whole point of the Minovsky-Ionesco and Minovsky Ultracompact Fusion reactors the fact that I-Fields not only contain the plasma but also stop thermal Radiation through them, thus rendering the heat issue of the Reactor a much smaller issue than would otherwsie be the case?

Generally very good. You do, however, really need a good black undercoat for them to work best. To get a smooth non-grainy shine requires some trial and error with thinning and washing up liquid in my experience, and several layers of metallic> colour wash> metallic highlight/Drybrush, but the resul...

It'll probably be re-released with new packaging after a short dead spell.
The same thing happened with the Alteisen and Weissritter, and the Wildwurger and WildFalken twice.
Some of the other machines are also getting re-issued with new packaging.
