Re: Stark Jegan - Clay Bazooka
It's not the exact same thing since they're not the same weapons and probably don't use the same ammunition but it's presumably the same concept at work.

Re: The Protection conferred by Phase Shift Armor
Thanks for the additional info! Quick question, I thought VPS was only on the N-Jammer equipped machines and the conventional battery type machines switched over to Trans Phase Shift armor which drained the battery per shot instead of being on constantly. Were there battery equipped machines using ...

Re: The Protection conferred by Phase Shift Armor
Are the 5 original GAT machines equal in battery size? Or do some of the frames have larger batteries than the others? As mentioned we don't have specs for this and using the show to try and judge these things is fraught with peril since dramatic tension is going to outweigh someone crunching numbe...

Re: The Protection conferred by Phase Shift Armor
To add to the above, the physical shields that Strike and the other Gundams carry are specifically identified as having anti-beam coatings and descriptions tend to mention that they're useful for protecting against beam weaponry that PS Armor is weak against. The existence of GENESIS implies that it...

Re: The Gundam F91?
Even the mass-production F91 would be a massive upgrade compared to the Jamesgun and Javelin that the Federation were using as their main MS. That said, I imagine it would depend on the environment; the use of beam rotors and Minovsky Flight systems mean that newer machines on each side are more man...

Re: Xenogears Mech Profiles?
The later games introduced the AMWS (more like a Mobile Suit size-wise, versus the AGWS that are something like 3-4 meter mini-mechs) but more importantly it also formally introduced the Ein Sof, AMWS frames built around the plot-important Anima Vessels and which every major faction has a couple of....

Re: Xenogears Mech Profiles?
Unfortunately in mecha terms, most of the really cool stuff didn't show up until the second and third games (when the fact that there are mecha started to become plot-relevant) and the series reflects that. And the franchise got canceled with half the planned games and some teased side projects neve...

Good point, I was thinking about the full fleet rather than the smaller one.

Re: Could the Gadelaza have wiped out the ELS advance fleet in its second sortie?
Ignoring the speculation entirely and just looking at the original question: Probably not. There is a citation for the Qan[T] Full Saber being able (in simulations) to take out the ELS fleet by itself... but it's explicitly noted that the simulation didn't account for the full range of ELS adaptabil...

Re: Evangelion Children (SPOILER)
On the subject of 'what makes an Eva pilot in the TV series?' the one factor that all the pilots and pilot candidates have in common aside from the lack of a living mother is that they were all born after Second Impact (or literally on the same day for Kaworu but he's a special case). Whether this i...

Re: Unusual Super Robot?
While Eva's are armored with conventional materials, AT Fields (the barrier between souls) are a unique trait that can make them immune to conventional military weapons. Except... no. Literally every human being in the setting has an AT Field, it's just that the ones possessed by the Evas and Angel...

Re: Athrun's most and least powerful units?(SPOILER)
On paper, it really should be Aegis<Saviour<Justice<I-Justice. Justice has the advantage of unlimited operating time over the next Gundam Athrun piloted, it can still fly under its own power quite effectively and as Kira demonstrates with its brother unit Freedom, being two years newer isn't much of...

Re: Questions regarding the SRW Huckebein
Yeah, in the last episode there's a shot of Wing Zero firing at the offscreen Epyon and then a salvo comes at it from offscreen and there's nothing else in the vicinity that could have fired those shots.

Re: Color of Beam Sabers
Just how many Beam Saber colors were there anyway? Its seems so far that there's Red, Green, and rarely Blue. Lots. The pink/purple sabers are the most iconic but we've also seen red (especially in 00 with the early Tau Drive suits), orange (other Tau suits), yellow (Zeonic suits especially, and th...

Re: Color of Beam Sabers
This has come up before and unless there's some new(er) explanation that I've missed, there's never been a canon explanation for why any given blade is colored the way it is. In real-world terms they generally serve to distinguish factions within a given work. By way of example, despite being 'broth...

Re: Questions regarding the SRW Huckebein
SRW4/F. I know fan speculation has been that the Huckebein's have been given reduced importance due to the Gundam resemblance thing but I can't recall any official statements to that effect and there's enough other original designs that have Gundams-like traits that as explanations go it's... unlike...

Re: Destiny & Legend's performance
...Destroy the cockpit and most mobile suits are dead :p . Yes, but a lot of MS in the setting have at least a few weapons that don't require the hands to function and those have a lot less armor than the cockpit block. Of all the Gundam types in GSD, Destiny is the only one whose offense can be co...

Re: Decals/painting on mecha
Five Star Stories also has a ton of decorative elements on the Mortar Headds, though as those things are pretty much showcases for the wealth and prestige of the owners it's just one more element of the ostentation.
