I prefer 1/72. It's a more standard scale(like 1/35) that is being used in models. From military kits to mechs like AC, Dunbine, Macross, Zoids, and some non IP MS.

Older ACs has a lot of flaws that the pilot has to deal with. In AC4 there are things that defy logic like their blinding speed and they're too overpowered for their size. They tend to exaggerate a lot of things. Not everything you see in a mech anime needs to be backed up by a scientific explanation.
