Re: Blast Impulse Goof - salvageable?

You would need to mod the NG Blast pack to work with the new Impulse because they use different styles of connection, the NG making use of those little triangular tabs while the HG kits use the standard 3mm posts to connect. Now you could carve out the old Blast pack to get it to seat over the Impul...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

The Warren family was given ownership of the Astaroth, so no, it's not one of the Seven Stars units. I believe it was mentioned that all of their Gundams still in their possession and counted as the 26 still working. If that's the case, it makes one wonder why the families didn't pull out their unit...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

The Halfbeak class does have a combat mode that drops the bridge into the hull for protection, so they've clearly considered the issue. I figured The Golden Jasley's armor mods preventing that mode were a display of arrogance along the lines of Iok's refusal to enter it during the battle with the Tu...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

It's more visual shorthand that their brain is working in overdrive. Nosebleeds are usually harmless but they can be symptomatic of high blood pressure or even precede strokes. The more worrisome thing would be bleeding from the eyes or ears since those are usually the result of internal bleeding br...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

So no comments yet for the corpse at the mining site? Sure looks like the unnamed mobile armor announced recently but I think that an MA is too big for the boys of Tekkadan to rebuilt and besides, those are mostly used by the bad guys to harass the hero. Bed that the Godfather guy is letting turnin...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Fighters Try Anime Thread Mk-V

You wasted time typing just to say sales=quality? No; I used my time to point out that quality is subjective. Taste is subjective, son. Quality is rational when comparing 2 products using the same aspect, so it's safe to say Try has horrible animation/battle choregraphy/writing/characters/etc. Impl...

Re: 1/144 Gundam Frames

Now that I've built the Barbatos Forms 4 and 6 and the Gusion Rebake, I have no idea what Bandai's at with these frames. They're constantly using a lot universal parts, like the torso and legs, but they're constantly remolding the parts and frankly wasting a lot of engineering when they could be mak...

Re: Need help with a 1/144 Epyon project idea

The Ballden Arm Arms kit is basically nothing but joints and armor plates, but I don't think it would work too well with the original Epyon. You'd pretty much be scratchbuilding the whole thing and I don't think that's worth the trouble. I'd go with what SNT1 suggested and use one of the HGAW X Gund...

Re: 1/144 Gundam Frames

Just by comparing the pics of the runners, it looks like frame 2 lacks certain parts in the shoulders and feet that are otherwise supplied by parts dedicated to specific designs, judging by the Kimaris frame set. It really just looks like they took frame 1 and cleaned it up by putting the universal ...

Re: Gunpla at HobbyTown USA!

This has been going on for at least two years. My only problem (besides the fact that my local store is owned by people who are... let's say "disagreeable") is how weirdly priced everything is. I understand we're paying for the shipping and everything that goes into the rest of the store, ...

Re: I-Fields/Beam Shields on UC battleships

It's because the purpose of ships -- at least those not belonging to named heroes or villains -- in UC Gundam is to die horribly at the hands of giant robots. They are props, usually but not always, for the present incarnation of the Zeon to destroy to demonstrate that a pilot is a threat to the he...

Re: Cheap but good master grades

Tall order on this one. The thing is, pretty much any Master Grade that's going for less than $40 anymore is either an add-on kit or one that's old, and the GP01 and Zeta Plus kits are definitely old. Doesn't mean that they're bad, but they're going to be fiddly and frustrating thanks to the older e...

Re: The Official Gundam Reconguista Mecha Thread Mk I

I'm sort of curious on what kind of role photons play in this series technology. We have the orbital elevator which delivers photon batteries to earth. We then have the reflector pack which apparently makes mention of a photon battery. This has me wondering are Reguild era mobile suits powered by t...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Fighters Mecha Thread Mk I

Oh, no, Aile/Sword/Launcher/Shiranui/Build/Star/Oowashi Dark Matter Whatever is still possible, assuming one uses the two pegs that do connect it to the Dark Matter Exia. The little flip-up bit there is an optional connector that's mostly there for that purpose, since flipping it forward stows it aw...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Fighters Mecha Thread Mk I

As near as I can figure (you'd have to get someone more knowledgeable on the subject for confirmation), the issue with 00S2 and AGE seems to spring from Tokyo Broadcasting System. They were the network that ran Gundam for years, but AGE's absolutely tanking in the ratings resulted in TBS ending the...

-Zeong, Providence, and Reborns? What's that about? It seems to be pointing out Exia Dark Matter's role in the story as the strongest enemy unit (which is stated in the title above the pic) that the protagonist have to face. Even though the legs look more like Exia R2's, the manual repeats the offi...

Re: Practicality of the Beam Scythe

I think it's stated in the supplemental materials that mobile suits in AC are deliberately designed around psychological warfare to begin with, and the Deathscythe is an obvious furthering of that. Since it's a beam, issues of blade angle are moot, and the head of the scythe is articulated to let it...

Okay, so I wasn't the only one who was weirded out by this. When I first saw it a week or two ago, the display was so new it still had the scheme on it.

B&N was already poison to me, this just makes it worse.
