Re: GS Advent Main Thread (3 New Supplement Articles)

I added new supplement articles since I don't have Chapter Three ready yet. One is a report from the ECOSOC, one talks of a new undersea drilling project, and the other is an older article from the early days of the Cosmic Era with Ireland joining the UK. Edit: I also added a rank diagram for enlist...

Re: GS Advent Main Thread (UESN Ranks + New Chapter Titles)

Now I added a set of military ranks for the UESN, specifically the officers.

You can check it out here:

And new chapter titles are up, both currently being worked on.

Re: GS Advent Main Thread

The first supplement article (one of which will hopefully be over a dozen) has been posted. This one deals with how Aktaeon Industries is ultimately shoved out of the Eurasian Federation prior to the formation of the UESN.

Re: SEED: Pilot suits causing high Natural casualties?

Just to clerify a detail, I never said that hard suits had advantages over the soft suits. It depends on how they're made and whether or not they encase parts of the body so that pressure wouldn't be distributed uniformly. Let's not forget the flight type MS. I'm sure a Murasame or even a Babi could...

SEED: Pilot suits causing high Natural casualties?

A thought occurred to me as I was reading up on some material on different types of space suits for another project I'm working on. From what I gathered there are three general types: hard, mixed, and soft. Add to that a company researching a skin-tight space suit to take advantage of higher flexibi...

Re: General Fan Fiction Discussion

I have three people slated to be beta readers for my material and all of whom I value their inputs and opinions. None are currently on this site but two are good friends and one is a relative. I don't think having a devoted beta reader thread on here would work. I think people should just ask others...

Re: GS Advent Main Thread

Chapter Two has finally been posted. Hopefully I'll have the third chapter posted in the Fall.

The insert song mentioned in there is "Atradaitoshi" from the game Extreme-G III.

Thanks for the comments.

I won't say anything in regards to your assumption about that first bit only to say that it's not quite how you perceive. I aim to further show that distinction in the future.

Sorry for being such a fat @$$ about this, but I finally posted my first chapter. I had several details I had to work out about the story before I could go ahead. There is a link in the first post of this thread and below. Hope you enjoy it. Please give feedback both here and on my Deviantart page. ...

GS Advent Main Thread (3 Supplement Articles+Enlisted Ranks)

I had a realization that my attempt at my Pariahs fanfic was going to be a lot more difficult and taxing than I originally thought; mainly because I was overcompensating for GSD's story flop. Now a year later I've given the story an overhaul. Soon I'm going to start uploading it to DA and posting li...

OMNI reflects a more NATO like organization while ZAFT does something a bit funky with their "Teams" (not sure where it came from). Indeed. I think their system of hierarchy makes "Teams" of mobile suits like minor companies since all of their teams are named by their commanding...

I agree that you can't compare the effect of a projectile weapon like a CIWS gatling and a particle weapon. The particulars and firepower for each weapon are just too different. Though, when looking at the CIWS of a mobile suit you'd have to consider the scope of things. 1in = 2.54 cm 75mm = 7.5 cm ...

Macross Frontier

Based on this series, this is going to be a good few years for you mecha fans out there. The first episode of Macros Frontier aired recently and looks great. The animation is awesome. The character and mecha designs are solid. And the CG work looks even better than their work with Macross Zero. Now ...

All I can say is that if and when they do make ZOE III that they get someone competent for the english scripts. Also I hope ZOE gets more attention on the production line than it's predecessors seeing as how compared to MGS ZOE was made the ignored sibling.

I would think that given that Orb originally created the GAT-X series mobile suits it would be more likely that the Akatsuki's development started not long after the five prototypes were finished. It's also possible it could've been even developed concurrently with the prototypes seeing as how Orb w...

That Aile pack is a custom-made version for the Cosmo Grasper. It can't use the beam sabers of a normal Aile pack in combat so why bother putting them on one meant for a fighter plane?

Also there's the question of used versus new. I'm still wary of buying used games unless I'm physically in the store when I buy them. Most copies of the original FM5 are used unless you find ones still sealed in the packaging. But those ones cost in excess of $60 while the Ultimate Hits is still in ...

Thanks for clearing that up.

I have to admit I'm not very fluent in the Japanese language (only the stuff I get from anime series and such), though I'm a mecha fanatic first above all so the language barrier matters little to me.
