Re: Eastern and Western Mecha

Battlemechs are derived from earlier works too, technically. All of the original battletech mechs were copies of mechs used (with permission at the time supposedly) from Macross, Dougram, and I think Crusher Joe. The newer ones are original designs but most are still originally based on and influenc...

Re: Z'gok Commander Type: 4 Claw Variant?

I seem to recall a recurring animation error that shows the Z'gock occasionally with one too many claws, I.E., the four instead of the three. It's my understanding that the four clawed master grade thing is nothing more than a nod to the inconsistent animation of the first show, rather than any cano...

Re: Bandai moving backwards with kit designs?

I'm sure you'll find people argue with this, since 'quality' is a relative concept, but on a whole, I'm inclined to agree with you. Unfortunately, I started to notice a downward trend in some of the models since 00's second season, and I'm inclined to lame things like the rising cost of plastic. Cer...

Re: GN Tau Drive Question

As I recall, the compatibility issues were more a matter of the HRL lacking an understanding of how the CB Gundams actually transferred power, as the GNX and Throne series used a different method that wasn't compatible. I'm fairly sure the Generation 2 Gundams show up powered by Tau Drives at some p...

What would the best way to contact you about reviews be? I've got about 25 or so Super Robot Taisen models I could probably do write-ups for.

Re: Putty Emergency!

I know this is pretty late, but basically what's happened there is that many putties are designed to chemically react to the plastic, which is to say they basically break it down and fuse to it. If you add too much at once, it can result in unfortunately melting the plastic, as you're experiencing t...

Re: AGX-05 Cybuster Origin

Both PTX-008 units featured Black Hole Engines. The second unit was sealed after the vanishing trooper incident, but the flaws in it's generator were corrected before it was unsealed and put into use. The PTX-008-EX in the alpha timeline is supposed to be this same second unit, improved with armor a...

Re: AGX-05 Cybuster Origin

Even so, claiming a few fuzzy split-second images is anything so specific is a pretty big stretch. Yes, it's clear some version of Cybaster appears, along with Granzon, what looks like Masaki, and some other things, but to say definitively 'this is x so and so version of Cybaster' is indulging too m...

Re: AGX-05 Cybuster Origin

The connections between Panzer Warfare and SRW Z are fan-theory, only. Whatever Akasim and Shurouga's connection to Lord of Elemental casts there is, it certainly hasn't been confirmed.

Let's try to keep fan-theories out of this, can we?

Re: asking about ZII

I think the fact that it was considered to have a good cost to performance ratio is tripping people up into thinking it could be more easily produced in numbers and thus mass produced. Which, as you point out, isn't exactly the case.

Re: asking about ZII

The ZII's concept never died as it came back during the Laplace Incident in the streamlined form of the ReZel, as the ReZel also shared a mega beam launcher which shares the same concept as the ZII's mega beam rifle. Plus was the ZII that great in performance to begin with? It surely beat the Zeta ...

Re: asking about ZII

That much we might not know per se, but realistically it could be any number of issues. Anything from the methuss frame needing to be reworked for the new design to something small like the generator being insufficient. Problems with construction in this case could really refer to any stage in devel...

Re: asking about ZII

Again, that's not really a gamble considering that there were multiple ZZ units constructed, as was just pointed out, in the form of the FAZZ. And none of this addresses the mention in this websites very own profile of the ZII that it wasn't structurally fit for production in the time frame the AEUG...

Re: asking about ZII

It's not said how much lower it's price is- just that it's somewhat cheaper. We don't know if that means one ZZ is three times more expensive or one and a half times more expensive. I'd imagine the cost difference is no where near as much as is being assumed here. To say that you could make that man...

Re: The Official Gundam 00 Anything Thread Mk VIII

Edit: Completely disregard what I just said, the wiki quotes a direct source for that bit of information- Gundam 00 Season 2 Official File 6 pg 23-25

The wiki is incredibly unreliable, but if they're at least quoting a source for a tidbit of info, it might be okay to take that as read.

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II

The addition to OG1 are fairly minimal. A few new lines of dialogue, and the optional 'secret' Grungust has been replaced with the Lion Head Type from divine wars.

OG2 on the other hand had quite a bit of new material, including the addition of part of the cast from SRW-R.

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II

Compact 3, actually, if you're talking about Folka and company. Compact 2/Impact where Kyosuke/Excellen's story. And don't forget the OG version of The Great Battle IV characters- They got quite a bit of story-focus in Gaiden. It also added some original plotlines and finished up SRW3's last few sce...

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II

I wouldn't be surprised. I know the fandom's clamored about it being an unfinished plot thread, but the whole Beowulf concept never seemed much more than window dressing to me. It didn't serve much story purpose other than give Axel a motivation to want to fight Kyosuke, and to give a justification...

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II

As far as Arado goes, that's pretty much exactly how the lines went in the game. I'm just glad that bit of dialogue didn't end up on the cutting room floor, along with all of the other bits that didn't quite make it. Then again, they've focused on Arado's plot enough that it's only right we get tha...

Re: The Official SRW OG: The Inspector Thread Mk II

Ah, so it is. The fuzzy furigana on the scans I saw weren't much help, but I was able to get the kana/kanji spelling of the name, for anybody who wishes to attempt their google-fu on it.
