Re: Axis Zeon, iconography, and popular support
Glemmy's rebellion therefore seemed not like something that came out of nowhere, but Haman and her court had actually knew and feared about it... I know this is straying from the "mecha and technology" aspect of this thread, but I think there's plenty of evidence that Haman didn't regard ...

Re: Gelgoog Successors?
A lot of the on-paper stats are kinda junk in terms of making any sense, tbh. That goes especially for mecha in the interstitial OVAs like 0080 and 0083, where they made up stats in relation to other units within the same series, but didn't even try to make them fit in with performance numbers of pr...

At a glance, it appears the carrier ship's name is Krähe, the German word for "crow". I'll need more time to suss out anything else, since I'm pretty slow with figuring out kanji-heavy Japanese. I'm sure someone will have the lion's share of it worked out before I can.

I haven't seen any legal download sources for The Origin episodes, sorry. Lots of legal streaming (like on Hulu, for just one example), but haven't seen download sites.

Re: Votoms Viewing Order
As a general rule, any connected fictional franchise (movies, TV shows, novels, etc.) are, with very few exceptions, best experienced in release order. Even if later releases feature a plot that takes place chronically before earlier releases, they're usually made with the assumption that the viewer...

Re: "Luna" Asteroids
I wonder if they'd name an asteroid "Luna [#]" if it's not in the Earth sphere, though? Pure conjecture on my part, but a name like "Luna" is obviously taken after our natural satellite, so it's probably reserved for asteroids that have been brought to the Earth sphere. Sorta a &...

Re: Watching the UC series for the first time
As much as I really liked Zeta, warts and all, I've never been clear on why it got a reputation as best UC series ever. I'm speaking as someone who ranks it pretty highly, too, though I prefer First Gundam. Might be a generational change in tastes, as the fans who championed Zeta as the best series ...

Plus, the (admittedly secondhand) impression I get is that the Japanese fans largely haven't had the kind of backlash against the OYW setting that the English-speaking fanbase has been having for the past however many years. I mean, not that you have to like the situation - the perceived "overc...

The MAHQ profile, at least, claims that Riah built them. When did Zeon deploy Draken-E?

Re: Gundam cliches you could do without?
The only thing I begrudge the Toonami run for is giving us people who will insist on using the dub alterations and errors. Are there fans who insist on the dub names? I remember back when G Gundam was first airing in the US and some newly-minted fans used the dub names because they didn't know abou...

Re: AoZ: The Traitor to Destiny Mechanics
You can do like I do and just ignore AoZ
Or if you don't want to do that, you can remember that cyber newtypes like Rosamia were experimented on in Augusta (unless AoZ retcons that as well). And the Gundam Alex is still developed there. So you still get your regional pride thing.

Re: AoZ: The Traitor to Destiny Mechanics
Doesn't the ORX prefix denote an Augusta design? That's what I presumed Mark was referring to.
Edit: Wait, I see that Oakland is mentioned in the text, but my awful Japanese reading comprehension isn't good enough to figure out what it's saying beyond that. Hm...
