Re: Turn A Origins?

Posting this up because it seems relevant to the subject. It looks official, though it implies the various universes converged together rather than followed each other (at least from what I can get from it). Does it add anything useful?

Re: General Fan Fiction Discussion

Look at different contexts for the description to appear in. Rather than just narrate them, you could have features and functions being noted by a mechanic working on the suit, or a technical briefing sort of thing. If you feel it necessary to list aspects have them being listed by a character, othe...

It's just a PNG file, despite the URL saying it's a JPG. GIFs also do it, just remove the background from the image and save it as a PNG.

I knew I should have been riding your tail harder on updates. Just because I don't post here much doesn't mean I'm gone, it just means I don't really have anything to post about. Besides, all of our correspondence was through E-mail off the board to begin with.

It's apparently called the Coward Gundam, unless the text refers to it as something different.

Re: Another concept: Mobile suits run by anti-matter

Anti-matter reactions always release large amounts of Gamma rays, Positron-Electron annihilation releases all of its energy in that form ("gamma ray photons"). And yes, some 63 trillion dollars per gram in worth, or something like that for anti-matter. It's also been noted that, using mode...

Re: Another concept: Mobile suits run by anti-matter

Something as powerful as antimatter would be suited for powering ships and colonies. Any colony at Earth distance from the sun or closer would just be solar-powered, and since it takes considerably more energy to make the anti-matter than you would get out from using it, you're better off just usin...

Re: Another concept: Mobile suits run by anti-matter

There are inherent issues with powering something like a Mobile Suit with the most expensive material in the universe, let alone the least stable. A single malfunction will obliterate the machine and scatter enough radiation to eliminate any chances of the pilot's survival. Basically, even if you co...

Re: gundam game mechanics help

The Strike Daggers never use them for anything to the best of my knowledge, though they are a simplified unit rushed into production, so wouldn't have had too many add-ons at their time. The Buster Dagger uses the ones on its arms to store beam sabres and at least the MSiA version of the Dagger L ca...

A look at some of the points you listed; The heavy genetic/cybernetic enhancements make enough sense for a side that adopts high-level technology to its fullest, likewise with the wireless network thing. Somewhat reminiscent of the Borg design (I would imagine), or partial cyborgs from Ghost in the ...

Mass always matters, since you have to push it around regardless. It can't get more than 1.55 Gs because that's how much its thrusters can accelerate it. It would seem lower on Earth because there's 1 G constantly pulling it down, but wouldn't go higher unless you got the thrusters to put out more p...

You can typically calculate the acceleration by adding up the total thruster output in kg, dividing that by 1000 (turns the value into tons), and then divide by the suit's weight. For your example the Nu has a grand total of 97,800 kg of thrust. Dividing by 1000 (97.8 tons) and then divide by 63, wh...

Two memorable ones recently watched; 2001: A Space Odyssey - I watch 52 year-old science fiction movies and resigned to the fact that they're not always that well done, and while 2001 didn't have anything wrong with visuals and is among the most revered classics, it was the most boring film I've eve...

No, I meant the 30th anniversary thread that was in the Anime and Manga (I think, or one of the others in the forum) section maybe a month before this thread started. Need to word my sentences better.

This has kind of turned into a "What's the next Gundam series?" thread, kind of like the last 30th anniversary one that predated this one. Personally I can imagine that Bandai would build a 1/1 White Base and stick it somewhere, where they could probably move their 1/1 RX-78-2 afterwards. ...

I'm self-taught at the moment. There are numerous problems with it, the least of which being that subtle camera shake doesn't work in space scenes.
