There is not an identify this game thread, so I will ask about the identify of this game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0DQV9_PeSY) here. Anyone know
Sunrise Eiyuutan 2 for the PS2. Gameplay's sort of like SRW, but with full-size sprites instead of SD.

Re: ID-0

I want to see where Taniguchi will go with regards to themes of Transhumanism, especially as it's such a central aspect of most of the main cast (and the fact that the authorities/mainstream society seems to frown at it). With regards to the CG, I enjoyed Sanzigen's work on Bubuki Buranki , so I'm p...

Re: Frame Arms Girl

Right now, I find this more entertaining than the Busou Shinki tv series, due in part to the blatantly over-the-top product shilling and the fact that Ao doesn't really give the entire situation much thought & just takes things in stride (and gets paid for it).

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

For a while there, I was hoping that Naze would do to Iok what Kamille did to Scirocco especially after he refused to retract the bridge, but alas, maneuvering thrusters are still a thing. I'm assuming the Dainslef weapons use up a lot of power; those MS seemed practically helpless after firing the ...

Re: Assault Suits series

Leynos was really fun on the Megadrive back in the day. I loved it for the mecha designs & the 2nd stage with allies & enemies in a chaotic, zero-g free-for-all. It helped a lot that you could gain access to all of the weapons at the end of the first stage if you fulfilled a certain condition. The e...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

OHMYGAWD. Not only is Hayate piloting a VF-1 with a blue trim - which we all saw in the Ep preview - but Mirage is piloting not her -31C, but an identical VF-1, except with a red trim. Not purple like her -31, actual red. That is both awesome and somehow hilarious. There had better be a date betwee...

When Hayate was caressing the plane, I was honestly thinking, 'lol, imagine the fireworks if that was actually Mirage's plane."

Then BAM.

Re: Kuromukuro - New Mecha Series

I watched the first episode. It's too early to tell where it'll lead, but one thing that caught my attention was that the UN's experimental giant robot has two operators in a tandem seating arrangement, much like an attack helicopter. It also seems to have some kind of gravity control, among other t...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Newcomers seem to be fine with it. It's mostly the vets I see complaining about how it's "not Macross." 'Wannabees posing as vets' is my impression; a lot of these are people whose first exposure was Plus, and haven't bothered with the original series or M7 at all. Then there are those who bought i...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Politics & flounder aside, I was disappointed that the only acknowledgement--and an indirect, implied one at that--of the difference between Earth & Martian gravity was the comment about refitting the Barbatos for terrestrial use. There are obvious ways that they could have acclimatized during the j...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

It's interesting to note that, in the past two episodes, the tone of the story has been growing more serious. While the stakes in-universe have always been relatively high, last week's episode concluded with the death of the lead scientist (albeit in a peaceful manner) while this week had the antago...

Re: Winter '16 TV Shows

I was a bit nonplussed as to how the latest episode of Dimension W just skipped over 90% of an entire story arc which dealt with how dystopian its society had become. Asides from that, it made some character actions appear illogical. For all its Alienware shilling, I'm actually finding the PSO2 anim...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Today I learned that Martian prostitutes are actually more brutal than Gjallarhorn soldiers. Also, a small crowd of armed men, backed up by three mobile workers, don't look particularly threatening when marching down such a broad avenue. Does anyone else find it a bit ridiculous that the Gjallahorn ...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

Okay, things felt more natural in the second episode, and I'm enjoying the variety potential of the WillWears. So, we get Asami's debut & why you should pay attention to your engineer. I'm also glad that she didn't have that ugly protective shell from the first episode when she launched. What really...

Winter '16 TV Shows

Okay, so the Winter 2016 season is upon us. Of the new TV shows this season, I've found the following to have significant mecha content: In alphabetical order: Active Raid - Has its own topic. Bubuki Buranki - It's hard to explain this one in a paragraph or two as the show's still in the process of ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

It won't last, but I appreciate Orga trying not to fight Gjallarhorn. I really enjoyed the part when the manure hits the ventilator and Orga's dawning realization that somebody's been shafting them & they're deep in over their heads and waaaay beyond their pay grades. I have to wonder how deep the ...

Re: Code Geass director has a new project: "Active Raid"

I enjoyed the first episode, although I felt that some of the humor, relating to bureaucratic red tape for example, seemed rather unnatural in delivery. I liked the way the characters interrupted each others' rather awkward infodumping, though. I'll chalk it up to it being the staff still settling f...
