Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

that rifle is either an expansion of the icarus folding rifle, or just a similar design, i can't tell. Either way, it's another nod to the icarus.

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

but a few of the machines farther down the line started getting more and more abstract from the style established by the Zeta Gundam TV series, to the point where they began to bear only a passing resemblance or no resemblance at all to anything else from that time period, as zooks said, most of th...

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

In the second image of the VAnargand, in the detail shots where it has even more equipment, it looks to be another try at what the Icarus was. Tthe booster unit that goes on the front pelvis looks very similar to the Icarus version, as do the beam reflector shields. The over the shoulder units look ...

Re: new here; are there any new mecha anime's coming out soon?

But Gurren Lagann was just too overpowered, like Strike Freedom, and they seem to instantaneously develop revolutionary technologies on the spot from seemingly nowhere, along with systems and the training to use them. Just...weird-ish, I'd say. Still good, though. i think you missed the point sorry...

Re: "Xam'd: Lost Memories" Opinions? *No Spoilers, Please!*

The setting does seem ripped from a Ghibli film, and it takes an awful lot of episodes for nothing much to happen. I watched it all the way through but was ultimately dissatisfied. I felt like I was watching season 2 of something.

Re: Advance of Zeta 2

I'm really curious about the HiZack variation. Based purely on the picture, can any of you see a reason why the variation exists? I see the differences, I just don't understand why.

as the token AoZ fanboy I've got to chime in and ask, what is the function of that section of the Lombardia shown in the line art for the Aswan Kai. (click that link to the TTT Arc to see it)

TR-6 Woundwort: I don't think I can really buy this one. Actually, it's such a throwback to the Dendrobium--what with its core mobile suit plugged into a mobile armor-size trailer--that it might almost have made more sense before the Gryps Conflict. By the end of Zeta Gundam, most of the fighting c...

I agree that the story has many elements that fall short, especially when it comes to Zola. I'm more interested in the mechanical design continuity. When you mention testing the Asshimar in zero gravity, that was one thing I didn't balk on because I experienced AoZ before Zeta. I had the same reacti...

I don't know if that brings all of AoZ into existence really. I'd say the existence of the said unit would be official, but everything else would be bon voyage so to speak. I'd make the argument that AoZ as a whole is official due to the involvement of Sunrise AND the Hazel cameo, but you're right....

AoZ and UC Continuity

a response regarding AoZ by Deacon Blues from the "What's Official" thread On top of that, most of the AoZ suits are just off the charts in terms of UC normalcy, so I still can't see how they fit in... This deserves it's own topic, so here it is! I've heard this argument a lot and I don't ...

please forgive me for brining this up late in the topic, especially if I missed someone else mentioning it in my scanning of the thread... So AoZ seems to be "official" not just because Sunrise was involved in the series, but because a Hazel had a cameo appearance in the third Zeta movie. ...

To me there's a HUGE difference between a modular MS that can switch parts easily with the assistance of a maintenance crew and an MS that can attach it's own parts out on the battlefield. The former being something a good crew could do in a very short amount of time (15 - 60 minutes), with tools an...

I figured that was just a case of new technology allowing the same weapons on a smaller mobile suit. As the Quin was about the size of the Psyco Gundam, but now nearly 8 years later, the weapons are much more compact. You know, like the Elmeth and the Qubeley. Of course, that's an assumption. Perha...

so are the suits in unicorn gonna be downsized since its the era leading up to f91? its too hard to tell from the pics of the suits ive seen what direction they are going with size well except for that one nz-666 monster suit. You might be on to something there, except even the NZ-666 is a 'mini' M...

A predictive device as envisioned by Laplace seems too far fetched for a UC series to me. Taking into account chaos theory and quantum mechanics, such a computer could not fit into a box, and logic would dictate that it would have to be at least as big as the universe itself (because the universe is...
