Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

Take a quick look at the stats and tell me how you attribute out 2 x 24000 kg, 4 x 1870 kg. I mean, there's only one set of (2x2) four and one set of two, so... Guess we have some misunderstanding, I think the rear view suggest that the backpack thrusters are main ones because it's at least larger ...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

Actually not that rare, Amuro did it near the end of MSG. Receiving telepathy seem to be much easier than boardcasting. The point is, you claim it's absurd for him to form a cult liek that. So I pointed out that it's happened IRL, by people without actual power even (unless you believe Asahara's ani...

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

Should we start discussing about flowers arrangements like the last time this happened? Well, I guess it's worth to note that Zoids (I'm not talking about anime) actually has huge variety on both good guy and bad guy. The story is full of arm race, and the variety is somewhat explained by ...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

Problem with Acguy. Every time it perform like a badass, what follow will make it become a cute critter again. Of course, that doesn't make it a bad design at all, it's cute. Anyone here think that a single Newtype who could convert thousands of people to his religion is a bit of a stretch? I mean, ...

Just found official site. Ok, from what I saw it's very fanservice-heavy, but mech are pretty cool.

Re: Knight's & Magic

If I could hack magic... well, let's just say there would be a new overlord of the surrounding... continent, in the imminent future, plus the Gundam. The idea of conquering fantasy world with modern knowledge combined with fantasy lore - to figure out how nature work with science and overcome it wi...

Metal Sonic's Metal Overlord form...(I hate myself)

Getter Robo series' enemies (post G) would be good choice too.

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

G-Reco was only two cour, and Mask went through how many upgrades? Five? Six? G-Reco is a little unusual in that both Mask's Squad and Megafauna also get new stuff from other parties. Megafauna use mostly Amerian mecha, but also get stuff from Capital Guard, Towasanga, and Venus Globe. While Mask S...

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

Because of the trope call "Monster of the Week", or "Mecha Wrestling" as it's called in Gundam Sousei. Basically, variety of bad guys = more opportunities for hero to reveal different gimmicks = more toys selling. In universe, the protagonists are usually has much less manpower and/or resource (Z, Z...

So you finally able to get over the whole "ignoring everything set by original work and tie everyone into one big family" thing? Good to heard that.

(well, the previous post was simply a lame pun afterall)

Re: Yuri and Yaoi

Well, I can say something happened that kind of annoyed me today. So they recently announced that Kamen Rider W (Double) would be getting a sequel. If you aren't into KR, the series has a buddy cop dynamic, with one of the mains being a detective who WANTS to be hardboiled but is too emotional and ...

Although not a mecha series (you still find plenty of them) R-Type's Bydo is possibly the best example of biomechanical alien.

Re: Old Gundam profile corrections

Surprise...I did some research on Nether Gundam and found that on Nether Gundam's official profile . the pilot's name is ルトガー・バーホーベン. Not Paul. It's appear that his name come from Rutger Hauer and lastname of Paul Verhoeven . But mistake happen somewhere so instead of "Rutger Verhoeven" we end up li...
