Re: What MS design would you like to fix?

Well I think a few posters have already put up a few change proposals and one WackyModder84 did his case on the Destiny Gundam so there isn't much I can really add to the discussion but one. Okay, actually a few but you get my gist. If the hand plugs of mobile suit manipulators are able to transfer ...

Re: The issue of suspension arms...

Okay, first off, is anyone having any issues logging onto the forum via Windows Edge or Firefox? I could only do so via Internet Explorer. Second: If you look at the changeable tip of drill, it is actually quite easy to design a hardpoint that has a very adaptable and field changeable grip with none...

Re: The issue of suspension arms...

I think the primarily advantages to a manipulator-wielded "humanly" as opposed to hardpoint/weapon station-mounted "mechanical" are two fold: Rapid Customization and Retrieval, and Cross-Compatibility. For the first point, Rapid Customization and Retrieval, one simply has to look...

Re: PLANT Structural Support

They did make mention of the cables in the hourglass itself, just not what's keeping the rest of it rigid for those mirrors.

As for the mirrors, it would appear that the outboard mirrors always point towards the sun while the central hub mirror rotates with the hourglass portion.

PLANT Structural Support

Okay, many of us know that the PLANTs as seen in the Cosmic Era are basically hourglass shaped that rotate around a central hub to simulate gravity, and that light is reflected through mirrors with one mirror on the central hub while the others are effectively stationary and always facing the sun. H...

Re: What is the final word on Cosmic Era beam technology?

Well, I went over the episode where the Sword Impulse and the Gaia Gundam first had their bout to see if they had indeed crossed beam sabers. From video evidence here , here and here , it apparently shows a preference towards countering a beam saber with a shield, or to be exact an Anti-Beam Coated ...

Re: Travel time between planets

I'm under the impression, Post-OYW at the very least, that the thermonuclear fusion drives of the UC era are not true Torch Drives but rather Demi-Torch Drives. Or rather they have the potential to be torch drives but they don't have the space required for all the remass needed for the full burn to ...

Re: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

But the main character is just annoying to all hell. He has his own goddess, that clearly loves him and is open about it, but he's too stupid and dense to realize it, and only focuses on his puppy dog crush on some random girl way out of his league. Isn't that nearly all male anime protagonists in ...

Well they should, and without a difference in performance. After all, why would any one invest in ground-effect craft like the LCAC in the first place?

Sounds more like the timeline for the Igloo version than what many would consider the "accepted" version of the Battle of Loum, Sunrise officialism rules aside.

That or do a Magical Girl OVA featuring the Ashford Student Council and friends. Jk.

Still, for some odd reason I think that Lelouch would be the most beautiful out of all the Ashford magical girls. Disturbing, no?

Re: Real Life equivalent of scattering MP?

Certainly gives the phrase "At Combat Density" a whole new meaning.

Then again, there'll probably be a counter-countermeasure in the form of a missile that "smells" its way to the target via the smoke, given enough time.

Re: Real-Life Advantages of Mechs in Military Use

Might as well add in my $0.02 into this. First off, stating that mecha are "basically more durable soldiers" might not be the best way to describe their best usage upon the battlefield. After all, Powered Armor would fill that niche rather well and potentially more economic to field in ter...

Pre-Gundam SEED: Galilean Discovery

Obviously this is my first foray into posting fanfiction upon this forum so if the layout seems odd, I apologize. Anyway, a brief summary is that during the Jupiter Exploration Mission of one George Glenn Evidence 01 is found. But in this instance, it's not the Space Whale but rather something else ...

Re: Xeno Asks: Assorted UC Mechanics questions

Also, another point I meant to bring up: Do they ever acknowledge heating issues in space? In space there's obviously no air or anything for heat to dissipate to, so even though we see several solid machine guns in space, wouldn't they need to be modified or something? I imagine that sustained fire...

Re: Valvrave: mecha discution and speculation

After watching the final episode, I can't help but ask what is the purpose for those Dainsrave robot limbs beyond the whole "This ain't no Valvrave, boy! No Valvrave!" visual effect. I don't recall it using them like bits/funnels and they were barely used as additional limbs as far as I ca...

I don't mean to derail the current topic since I have yet to see episode 10, but am I the only one who got a Ressikan flute vibe from that last scene in episode 9?

Re: Gargantia on The Verdurous Planet

Interesting series so far as far as I figured. Almost feels like a slice of life anime but with mecha and a water planet.

And speaking of which. I'm surprised that no one has uttered a single Kevin Costner joke because of the premise of this series.

Re: Multiplying Divisions with Zeon

Boy, been a long time since I've replied to anything around here... Anyway, to get this brainfart out of my head so I can think properly for the rest of the day, I'm afraid that I'll have to to off-topic a smidgen with the debate on operational efficiency and reliability. The thought being, what if ...
